...Low Carbon EconomyAn offshore wind energy supply chain hub is beingestablished in Liverpool City Region. The LEPsuccessfully co-ordinated and submitted a bid toGovernment for Centre for Offshore RenewableEngineering (CORE) status.
Liverpool City Region is the only west coast UKlocation to be granted CORE status. It ensuresbusinesses looking to invest in manufacturing for the offshore renewable industry receive the mostcomprehensive support possible.
Achieving CORE status underlines the benefits of the LEP working with key Members and Partners in the sector to promote the City Region as a majoronshore location to facilitate the development of Irish Sea wind farms.

...SuperPortAssets and investment opportunities in Liverpool City Region’s SuperPort are promoted by the LEP.
Development of SuperPort infrastructure isattracting £1.8bn of investment in new facilitieswith the potential to create 30,000 new local jobsby 2030. The growth potential is set out in theLEP’s SuperPort Action Plan.
The LEP, together with Members and Partners,promotes the area’s logistics infrastructure, andthe compelling business case to locate inLiverpool City Region as an area offeringexcellent, cost-effective, low carbon multi modalconnectivity for UK and Ireland based logisticsoperations.
...Visitor EconomyThe LEP is also Liverpool City Region's official Tourist Board, promoting the unique destination offer to tourists, conference organisers anddelegates, tour operators and businessesthroughout the wider Visitor Economy in the UK and abroad.
National destination advertising campaigns co-ordinated by the LEP maintain the destination'sprofile in both domestic and international markets.And the results help deliver ever-rising levels ofinterest in the destination. Through LEP-led activityLiverpool became the only UK City Region outsideLondon to feature in a national TV campaignscreened for two months in summer 2012.
Elsewhere, the LEP oversees the strategicdevelopment of the VE sector across thedestination, making a major contribution to itsgrowth and success.
...Knowledge EconomyThe LEP is part of a consortium which secured£25m of ring fenced funds to develop supplychains in the advanced manufacturing sector.
Working with Members and Partner LEPs in theMidlands, Liverpool City Region LEP is able toassist businesses supplying clients in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, low carbon andchemicals thorough the Advanced ManufacturingSupply Chain Initiative (AMSCI).
Advanced manufacturing forms a significant partof the City Region economy involving 3,000companies employing 35,000 people. The AMSCIprogramme was launched in the region by theLEP which assists and facilitates bids for funds tohelp strengthen the City Region’s manufacturingsector by providing a helping hand to companieswanting to grow their businesses here.

Liverpool City Region’s output (GVA) has risenby almost 50% in the last decade.
Maintaining and enhancing that performance isan ambition shared by LEP Members.
This continued growth requires a collective focus. The LEP provides it.
The LEP’s Executive facilitates and supports thisstructure, as well as delivering programmes ofactivity agreed by each of the expert steeringgroups overseeing these sectors.

The SuperPort Action Plan identifies £1.8bn of new infrastructure developments with theopportunity to generate an additional £18.3bnGVA and create 20,000 new jobs by 2020.

THE LEP IS THE ONLY BODYREPRESENTING CITY REGION-WIDEINTERESTS AT GOVERNMENT LEVEL. THE LEP ALIGNS FUNDS ANDRESOURCES IN LINE WITH STRATEGICECONOMIC OBJECTIVES, ACHIEVINGTARGETED GROWTH BY COLLECTIVEACTION.
Our direct links to Government departmentsincluding the Department for Business,Innovation and Skills; the Department forCommunities and Local Government, theDepartment for Transport, the Department forEnergy and Climate Change and the Departmentfor Culture, Media and Sport, mean that we canoffer advice and assistance on any interactionsor barriers faced with Government. It is viathese relationships that the LEP negotiated acomplex ‘City Deal’ with Government that willsee new resources devolved to the City Region.
The LEP is also responsible for setting thepriorities against which Government money isspent. This includes how the significantEuropean Regional Development Fund andGrowing Places Fund monies will be spent in theCity Region and also in steering how investmentin housing and transport will be spent.
As an example, the LEP will play an active role in setting the priorities for transport as transportmonies are devolved to City Region level. In addition, we can also offer guidance andassistance to our Members and Partnersbidding for support from national sources offunding such as the Regional Growth Fund.
The LEP has also been instrumental in settingup Enterprise Zones in Liverpool City Regionand will play a major role in their development to ensure the opportunities they present aremaximised to deliver the greatest benefit to theCity Region’s economy.

The LEP accelerates the economic performanceof Liverpool City Region by stimulating higherlevels of business formation, business growthand productivity.

We promote entrepreneurship and innovationand advise and assist businesses seeking accessto funds and other support. We contribute to thecomplex agendas covering Spatial Planning;Housing; Transport; Infrastructure; Education and Employment and Skills.
We are developing the City Region’s PlaceMarketing Strategy to better promote the fullrange of internationally significant economicassets.
Our outputs, our achievements and what wedeliver are measured across a range of KeyPerformance Indicators drawn from existingtargets set out in detailed Action Plans for eachof the Key Sectors and our own Business Plan.These are available at liverpoolLEP.org

It is the City Region’s primary economicdevelopment company and its leadingMembership organisation.
