Final Idea
In order to create my net designs I had access to 2D design. This is an application that allows users to create designs onto a blank canvas. My lack of experience was my downfall with this program so I used Dtonline.com and this websites creates files suited for what any user requires. I needed a package that was at a size whereby it can store 20 tea bags. From this website I was able to change dimensions with nearly every net available and export them as a file 2D design could read and understand. I decided that the Lid and Base design was best suited for my project

This type of packaging I used for one of my initial idea’s and I feel this type of packaging is well suited for this
project. The idea of having a base and a lid for tea packaging isn’t common but with the right dimensions it can
safely store and secure the items that will be placed within this packaging. Also the layout of this packaging isn’t
complex so designing around this type of packaging is quick and simple. Due to the packaging normally being
glued together into shape its very easy to assemble and with the packaging interlocking quite tightly it will
defiantly be suitable for this project.

In order for me to use it as a Bitmap these was the steps I done: 1. Import jpeg 2. Disable transparency 3. Enable grayscale 4. Enable transparency 5. Export as bitmap
I downloaded and imported the file from DTonline into 2D design
I then opened a new file within 2D design for my logo and to sort out the settings to successfully import it to the final design
This was the final result after the bitmap was created and imported
I then resized the imported bitmap to each part of the two piece design

This is the final outcome of that individual bitmap imported onto my net designs. The overall quality of these bitmaps is remarkably good; being able to enable transparency instead of having white blocks filling the parts with space is very useful; this means I can engrave images without the worry of the design being effected
This is the final outcome of the designs with the logo fully implemented onto the design. I split the design into two layers; the font and the background. By splitting it onto different layers I can position each part of the layers according to my specification and not worry that either the font sizing or spacing will be effected or distorted so by splitting each later I have ensured great overall quality for the final product. For a comparison I created other nets and used the logo as a solid layer; I will compare the final outcome with those test pieces to compare the overall quality:

The outcome of this process had its benefits and disadvantages. The benefits of this process was to ensure that the design features of the net worked and to a certain extend it did; the burnt of effect of the design did give it the unique look I was seeking but the brand of the logo wasn't etched onto the final package itself due to errors. The overall look of the deign was good, because I wanted my packaging to be eco friendly I wanted to use as little material as possible so the idea to burn on the deign onto the face of the net had many benefits but came with downfalls such as tweaking the settings and problem solving issues. Unfortunately the issue of the brand logo not being etched on I couldn't resolve and the overall net didn't go according to plan, the overall sizing of the net was too small for the set brief; I was disappointed with the outcome myself so I decided to use the contingency plan I created encase an issue like this was apparent. From this attempt to create a packaging I learnt that I may have to use old traditional ways to design onto the front face of the net; my idea to burn onto and engrave on the net itself in order to save and not waste paper may have to be scraped due to unforeseen circumstances until a solution for my issue is clear therefore limiting the options I have to design onto the net itself
Summary of the outcome
Due to my inexperience within this type of production before creating my previous net I decided to create others to ensure if anything incorrect happened to my original plan I have a back up contingency plan Unfortunately my original plan didn’t go as expected forcing me to use the contingency plan I had created beforehand. The overall theme of this project is to have to separate containers that fit into each other creating a strong container and the contingency plan net follows the same theme I decided not to include the brand logo and the designs used on previous nets due to it being a back up and I haven't designed any designs to work with this net
This is the tool I used to scale down my net equally. By using this tool I can be reassured that the sizing of my net will remain accurate
The process of production was achievement. The packages function was to store 20 tea bags was achieved and I believe that the package was on par overall. One of packaging main features is to safely store and protect the contents of any products within and this was the case with the final product I produced. The package was also designed to have a large exterior meaning there is allot of design space available to display the product and attract attention towards the product through designs alone. This packaging was designed to be stacked either landscape or portrait meaning shopkeepers can position this packaging either stacked or stood up on display. The time taken and the costs to produce this package was relatively quick and inexpensive as it is only made out of card. This model was created in a result of previous prototypes failing but with those mistakes I learnt what to do to ensure the final product is set up to fulfil the briefs needs. I wanted to ensure i keep the eco friendly theme across my prototypes so I ensured that all the materials used were recyclable. Overall, Im happy with the outcome and feel that the only real method to improve this overall product is to complete the exterior deign with previous logos and patterns making sure all previous designs and work towards this project hasn't gone to waste.
Summary of the outcome
I had to design the exterior for my designs, I initially wanted to design a sleeve for the packaging but this packaging is going to be eco friendly and that would be a use of too much material so I decided to use the designs and place it ontop of the package itself and these are the results The final outcome of this I’m happy with; it exceeded my expectation and I didn’t expect it to look this good otherwise I would of prioritized that beforehand.
