Final evaluation

Introduction

This report will be an evaluation of my work during unit 11. It will included the designs, why I choose my website to be the way it is and so on, talk about the final product, the evolution of my work and the progress that happen over all.

Designs

Our theme for are website was about superheroes and we had to pick one superhero and talk about it. I picked superman, so I had to pick relevant colours and get pictures of superman put it as background change the writing was colourful very eye catching. My target audience are people from 11 till 30 I would say because there are lots of older people that still interested in superman and he’s movies, comics and my website gives people the opportunity to find those things for example my media page has YouTube links of superman’s trailer which helps my audience to find it quickly also my merchandise page has links of pages that sell T-shirts and all superman merchandises and finally I have another page that all the comics for people that are interested in superman comics.

Final product

First of all I had to plan how I wanted my website to be then, I started doing it all on PowerPoint presentation, then I started designing what my buttons looked like and saving them as pictures will look like and doing the back ground pictures then saved them all as assets, then we had to design are website on dream weaver and save all the buttons as context of the website saved as single pictures from each of the pages such as Home, Media, Merchandise.

Here are all my buttons I had to save them as pictures first then put them on Dreamweaver there’s two buttons because one is normal and the other one is with glow so when I put it on my website it changes from normal to glow.

I also spend a lot of time linking pages together so I had to link home page, to all the pages so when I go on my website they all link and I can go from page to another page.

I feel that my website is successful it might not look like what I had planned from the beginning but the end result am happy with, I feel that’s it’s very easy to find what you look for on my website, and clear, I made sure I didn’t have to much information on there and the colours suit my superhero.

Evolution of my work

I first designed my website on piece paper putting all my ideas together, what I had planed and what turned out at the end its totally different, as I was designing my website I realised that a lot of the ideas I had at the beginning wasn’t good for my website so I was changing my mind a lot, my colours had nothing to do with superman at first then I changed my mind and made it simple and clear and links to my actual hero, I had lots of pictures and was planning to have extra pages, couldn’t do most of that, because didn’t have enough space for more pages and the pictures didn’t look professional and wasn’t clear. I wanted to make my website as simplest as I can make it clear and understandable for my users.

Evaluation of my progress

The whole unit 11 has taught me how to design professional website, but also showed me how much work goes in to it so it could be professional and understandable website, lots of planning goes in to it you have to think about every move you make also I learned how to use my planning skills, changing things up constantly. This unit has also taught me how to use Dreamweaver never used it before, so it was difficult at first but after the planning and all the notes I did helped me build my website. I also learned about web authoring, protocols, design conventions and software all of these helped me design my website. This unit has also taught me the different software to help me with my page such as HTML text editors and Dreamweaver.
