Is it too little too late:Two soldiers return back on duty on home soil after returning from Iraq

As we come into the season of remembrance we turn our focus to the fallen soldiers of the past, those who with pride stared into the face of adver-sity for the sake of crown and country. These heroes of the past should never be forgotten for the brav-ery which they have displayed but what about those unsung vet-erans who are still still serving in an illegal war. Who will remember the soldiers who have sacrificed so much for their country? 77% of soldiers returning back from war, have been found to be suffer-ers of some form or the other of mental trauma. The city of Birmingham recently welcomed back the fifth regiment who returned back to the country last week and in a daring display of honor marched like soldiers in a salute to the comrades who they lost in the war.

Money Man: A young youth caught up in the gangster lifestyle

Recent studies showed that the number of young black males joining gangs was on the rise with 43% of gang memebers being black. Derek Campbell, the Government advisor on gang culture stated after a vist to Birmigham “as more is taken out of the communities leaving these youths with nothing to do, the crime rate will increase”. FEAR FACTOR People in the city would like to feel safe to walk the streets however the fear which these gang members instil in the more vulnerable members of the community has left many in fear of leav-ing there homes; as the vio-lence and crime is brought to their very door steps. The Birmigham City Coun-cil have said they are going to take measures in an effort to reduce the gang banger culture.
