imparting quality
science education for girls from the past 75 years, housing all
major science
departments affiliated to Bangalore University managed by
Department of Higher
Education (Collegiate Education Section), Government of
Karnataka. Presently the
College offers 13 undergraduate and 05 post graduate programmes.
College Caters
to the need of higher education of large no. of rural students
(women). College
comes under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC. The College is re-accredited
with 'B' Grade by
NAAC with a grade point average of 2.78. With over 1,100
students, from under
graduate to post graduate studies, the campus is known for its

well as enlightened administration, drawing appreciative
accolades from the
University as well as governmental bodies.
The Department of Chemistry was established in 1938 as the
largest Department
in the College providing both Under Graduate and Post Graduate
courses. The post
graduate department of biochemistry is a part of Chemistry
department established
in the year 2008. The deparment is associated with well equipped
laboratories,
which enables research culture. One of the commendable
contributions of the
department has been the creation and sustenance of a rigorous
dynamic and vibrant
masters program in biochemistry that imparts conventional and
new knowledge in
an innovative manner, which ensures that fresh, young minds are
trained and
oriented to create newer knowledge in turn.
The NCERAFIB-2015 aims to bring together leading academic
scientists, researchers
and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences
and research results
about all aspects of biocatalysts in agriculture, food and
industry. It also provides the
premier interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary forum for
researchers and educators
to present and discuss the most recent innovations. The
conference also provides
platform to discuss the practical challenges encountered and the
solutions adopted
in the field of biotechnology.
To bring the working professionals, researchers, faculty
members, industry and
academia to a common platform to share their views, knowledge,
achievements
and advancements in the field of enzyme technology and its
applications in
agriculture, food and industry
To expose the participants to the recent trends and the
challenges in enzyme
technology through invited expert lectures.
l
l
l To encourage faculty and researchers to present technical
papers in order to
develop aptitude towards paper writing, presentation skills, R
& D skills and so on.
l To promote a wide spectrum of background knowledge in the
field of enzyme
technology.
Batch, fed-batch and continuous fermentation technology
Biocatalysis in environmental and waste management
Biocatalysis under non-natural conditions (e.g. organic
solvents)
Biocatalysts in pharmaceutical, food, textile, detergent and
paper industries
