1 The beginning of the month saw the tail end of winter. Thus, pushing the postponement of the community BBQ to Saturday 15 th September, where the sunny spring weather beamed down. A job well done to Gill Duncan and her fellow trustees for the successful organisation and execution of the Spring Fling. The Taihape Spring Fling was composed of a variety of activities and competitions. Starting with the Daffodil Day Annual Fundraiser, A Baby Animal Fair at the Taihape Museum, The Taihape Spring Market at the Town Hall, and a spring themed activity held at the Whanau Hobby Hutt. The Spring Fling was wrapped up at the community BBQ in conjunction with the Cancer Society. Where there was Food, music, fun gumboot throwing, a bouncy castle, lots of fun in the sun and a Birthday cake for Taihape’s 124 th Birthday. Bernie Bee was at the Baby Animal Fair capturing some great photos. Those pics will be uploaded on our website https://taihape.co.nz/ with instructions on how to purchase, in the coming weeks. Thank you to the following local businesses who participated in this year’s spring fling window display competition. The displays looked fantastic. Anna’s Homewares, The Hair Shop & Producers Market, Café Telephonique, Andrea’s Jewellery, Westpac, Taihape Information Centre, Little Blue Lamb, Taihape Honda, Carpenters Dental, Paper Plus, Magazine, Taihape Pharmacy, Subway Taihape, Zacci Hair Design, Blush Florist, Property Brokers, and Wild Roses. Finally A huge Thank you to all volunteers, sponsors and participants from our wonderful Taihape community who contributed to the success of The Annual Spring Fling. All competition results can be found on page 19
