2. Synopsis
- A man crazed with bereavement becomes obsessed with replacing
his beloved daughter. He seeks comfort by finding a duplicate
daughter due to him believing it wasnt her time to die. Further on
he becomes so convinced that this girl is his daughter, he takes
her for his own. A dramatic and tragic psychological thriller that
will keep you entranced.
3. Details of opening
- The opening starts with the two girls at the swings of the
playground having fun and messing around. We discover that there is
a man watching them and recording them. We as the audience can see
him recording, this is a type of dramatic irony where the audience
knows something the characters dont. The friend notices and asks to
leave and points 0ut the man who has vanished. We then cut to a
different setting of a house which is messy, untidy and dark. We
see this man watches his recording over and over again. There is a
key moment which he pauses and plays on a loop, of Izzie glancing
at the camera. We pan around the room and we see an open music box
and next to it a picture of a girl who looks identical to the girl
in the park and then a funeral service book that shows the date of
birth and death (06.06.06) and the person ( Young Izzie) and
age.
4. Target Audience
- Our target audience is aimed at teenagers aged15 and over . The
age for the film would be certificate 15.
- We pitched our idea to a audience of this age and a wider age
range to get their opinions of the movie opening.
- They all commented on it saying what they liked about it and
what they would add to it.
- We carried out questionnaires to get data to make our film
opening more suited to what our audience wants.

Setting
- We will be using two settings.
- The first of which is the children's playground in Centenary
Park. The setting is first introduced with an establishing shot of
the park where we see the two girls in the distance (on the
swings). The first part of the opening is set here along with the
exit of the park.
- The second setting is in the mans house/apartment. It is seen
to be very messy and unkempt showing that he had something else on
his mind. The curtains are closed with a little light coming
through to give it dark, sinister atmosphere.
- In the park we hope to be recording in the afternoon at around
3pm. This is so that it becomes to dark and gives it an eerie
feel.
7. Music
- The only non digetic music used in this will be from a music
box.
- This will play a significant part in the storyline as the music
box will beone that belonged to his daughter and will play
throughout the title sequence and
- when the main character is watching
- The digetic music we will use are the natural sounds in the
park
8. Characters
- Gemma will be starring as the young (dead) Izzie. This is the
mans daughter.
- Charlotte or Gemma will be playing the older (alive) Izzie.
This is who the man will be following. She coincidently looks
exactly like the mans daughter and has the same name.
- Disha will be playing Amber, Izzies friend.
- This is our man. We dont see his face throughout the entire 2
minutes of the film opening. To add the suspense and create an
enigma code, hence forth he does not have a name.
9. Technology
- We will be using two cameras. The first of which is the school
camera and is used to film the shot, which when ordered together
create our opening. We are going to use all the correct camera
shots, angles and techniques when filming.
- Our second camera however is going to be used in an
unconventional way. This is the camera which the man uses to film
the older Izzie and Amber on the swings. Because he is doing it
discretely we want the filming he will be doing to reflect this, so
the camera wont be still and wont be using camera angles and
techniques in the correct way and in some places not at all. (This
hand held camera can also be seen as a pro)
10.
- There are two production companies which have researched and
thought are the best choices possible.
- This is because they both provide a service to help and develop
the film.
- ITVS is better known than Shoot You, and will provide more
money and coverage but Shoot You are more concerned and involved
with the production.
- Both apply to Independent films.
- We decided against Hollywood productions due to the fact that
they would normally go for film directors that have more experience
and have a better knowledge.
