HistoryThe club was founded by employees of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer, whose headquarters are in Leverkusen and from which the club draws its name. It was formerly the best-known department of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, a sports club whose members also participate in athletics, gymnastics, basketball and other sports including the RTHC Bayer Leverkusen (rowing, tennis and hockey). Historyince the formation of the Bundesliga, Bayern has been the dominant club in German football with 22 titles and has won five of the last ten titles. They have traditional local rivalries with TSV 1860 München and FC Nürnberg, as well as a contemporary rivalry with Borussia Dortmund. HistoryBorussia Dortmund was founded in 1909 by seventeen football players from Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund have won eight German football championships, three DFB-Pokals, four DFL-Supercups, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, and one Intercontinental Cup. Their Cup Winners’ Cup win in 1966 made them the first German club to win a European title. Since 1974, Dortmund have played their home games at Westfalenstadion. HistoryChelsea’s regular kit colours are royal blue shirts and shorts with white socks. The club’s crest has been changed several times in attempts to re-brand the club and modernise its image. HistoryGalatasaray Sports Club was founded in the fall of 1905, by Galatasaray High School (an elite high school founded in 1481) students as a football club. Galatasaray’s first president was Ali Sami Yen. Their first match was against Cadi Keuy FRC and they won this match 2–0. There were discussions about the club’s name, in which some suggested Gloria (victory) and others Audace (courage), but it was decided that its name would be Galatasaray.

HistoryThe 1958 Munich air disaster claimed the lives of eight players. In 1968, under the management of Matt Busby, Manchester United was the first English club to win the European Cup. Alex Ferguson won 28 major honours, and 38 in total, from November 1986 to May 2013, when he announced his retirement after 26 years at the club. Fellow Scot David Moyes was appointed as his replacement on 9 May 2013. Manchester United is the third-richest football club in the world for 2011–12 in terms of revenue.
