History of Fidelity Investments

How did fidelity Investments Start? 1943-1972: Edward C. Johnson 2nd took over the Fidelity Fund,

and in 1946 he created the Fidelity Management and Research Company to be an investment advisor to the Fidelity Fund.

1973-2000: Edward C. Johnson 3rd took over Fidelity. He wanted Fidelity to remain privately owned to remain free of the short-term market.

21st Century: Fidelity reached its $1 trillion milestone in assets.

Why are they successful? They are successful for many reasons. They have a strong work

force and a great management of their money and time. They also chose to remain a private business, thus keeping them from some of the market downfalls.
