Distribution Cables are multi fiber cables utilizing 900 um tight-buffered fibers surrounded by aramid yarn strength members and a flame-retardant outer jacket. The connectors may be installed directly on the 900um buffered fiber at the Optical Fiber Distribution and termination points. The distribution style cables are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and can be used in trunking, LAN and distribution applications where small size, lightweight, and versatile installation capability are required. Armored distribution cables are also available for additional protection in direct burial and aerial installations. NEXTERA will connetorize directly onto 900um fiber, if required.

Unitube cables are, compact, lightweight, small in diameter and installation friendly, while offering the crush resistance and tensile strength similar to traditional loose tube cables. In unitube cable, the fibers, are positioned in a central loose tube, filled with water-resistant filling compound. This tube is covered by water-blocking material with a layer of strength members to provide the cable with the required tensile strength. The cable sheath is made by polyethylene (PE). These cables are best suitable to establish LAN backbones, CATV Networks or to be laid in tunnels or in duct applications. Armored unitube cables are also available for direct burial applications.

    Loose Tube Cable

Loose tube cable is designed to endure outside temperatures, high moisture conditions. The fibers are loosely packaged in gel filled buffer tubes to repel side elements. The main application for these cables are for direct burial under difficult laying conditions. The single or double layer of steel tape armoring provides protection against rodents and other elements, while directly buried in ground. These cables are best suitable for outdoor applications to establish Telecom and CATV Trunk in direct burial applications. Please contact for additional fiber counts.

NEXTERA provides a variety of Subscription Channel (SC) connectors and adapters. The SC is known for its locking mechanism that gives an audible click when pushed into the adapter. Available in simplex and duplex styles, SC connector features a push-pull design for quick patching of cables into rack or wall mounts and prevents rotational misalignment. The SC connector family includes the Physical Contact (PC) pre-dome polished ferrule end face that reduces back reflection over a ferrule with a flat end face. To further reduce the unwanted back reflection NEXTERA offers the Angled Physical Contact (APC) version that has a ferrule end face with an 8 angle. The NEXTERA SC connectors are available in both singlemode and multimode versions with zirconia ceramic ferrules, and is fully compatible with NTT-SC hardware. The precision molded body and boot are made from UL-rated material. NEXTERA also offers an epoxy-free SC connector for quick field termination.

Since AMP NETCONNECT LightCrimp Plus connectors are factory polished, all you have to do is strip the cable, cleave the fiber and crimp the connector. As well as saving time per connector, there is no set-up time required and you get a more consistent, high-quality end finish.

    Pre-polished connectors

LightCrimp Plus connectors offer consistent crimp quality and long term high performance on a par with that of standard epoxy style connectors, regardless of temperature variations. LightCrimp Plus meets the relevant TIA/EIA, IEC, CECC and EN optical and mechanical specifications and operates in temperatures ranging from -10C to +60C.

    LightCrimp Plus connectors are rugged

The crimp tooling for LightCrimp Plus can also be used to crimp LightCrimp connectors. For existing users of LightCrimp or pre-polished connectors, AMP offers tool kit upgrades to make the transition to LightCrimp Plus terminations easier and more cost-effective.

    Tool kit upgrades

The LightCrimp Plus has been tested per industry FOTPs and exceeds all the requirements in the draft Connector Performance Specification Annex for the next release of TIA/EIA-568-B.

When fiber devices are very close to each other, the signal is extremely strong and doesn't have time to attenuate or lose strength as it travels through fiber. This is called receive saturation. The fiber signal's energy level exceeds the operating range of the receiving equipment. So when the light reaches the other end, it reflects back along the cable. This distorts the signals and disrupts data. you can solve this problem with our wide range of wavelength independent attenuator, suitable for 1310 and 1550 nm. These attenuator are available in FC/PC, DIN, SC , ST LC and E2000 connector styles and in both bulkhead and in-line type. Plug-in type attenuator can be used in most applications as there small size makes them ideal for in-line use. While at the same time, their low return losses, make them ideal for both system and lab use. Bulkhead type attenuator are designed for patch panels, test equipment and lab use. In which they can be used to balance line power or to prevent detector over driving.

Compared to FITEL' s S199, the S121A is 1/3 the size and weighs only 980g/2.21bs without the battery (battery weight is 170g/6 oz.). These compact dimensions allow you to splice in almost any location.

With the standard soft carrying case and strap, the S121A is just as portable as a camera. You can attach the carrying case to your belt for hands-free portability.

    Superb Portability

(Also available is a hard carrying case, which holds necessary tools and accessories.)

    13 seconds and Fully Automatic

Operating the S121A is simple. Just set the fibers in place and press a button! The whole process, from fiber feed to tension test, is fully automatic.

Very often in FTT(x) splicing, setting the splicer on a flat surface simply isn't possible. That is why the S121A is designed to be a handheld unit.

    Handheld Splicing

The S121A comes standard with a 2.5-inch color LCD monitor, which displays a magnified image of the fibers as

For cordless usage, the S121A comes with a rechargeable Lithium ion battery and recharge. The recharger can accommodate up to 2 batteries at a time. Remaining charge is displayed on the screen for easy monitoring. AC power is also available with the optional accessory(S959).

viewed by the CCD camera. This allows for simple and accurate confirmation of the splice quality. Both fibers are automatically inspected before the splice.

Thanks to the T-shape of the S121A, you can actually set the splicer inside the closure and splice with very short fiber lengths.

    Short Fiber Lengths

Again, similar to standard fusion splicers, the S121A offers an optional heat shrink oven for applying protection sleeves to the splice. An optional tool for applying non-shrink ULTRA sleeves also available.

Ahcieve high quality cleaves with S323/S324 Fiber Cleavers

Introducing Furukawa Electrics line of high precision three and four step cleavers. The S324 cleaver is an ergonomic, easy to use three step cleaver that replaces Fitels well known S321 cleaver. The S324 is a smaller," no frills" cleaver that produces consistent, high quality cleaves efficiently and quickly. Based on the S324 design, the S323 High Precision Cleaver incorporates a unique automatic waste fiber disposal system. This unique waste fiber collection system eliminates potentially hazardous waste fiber from the splice area and produces consistent high quality splicing.

Applicable Optical FiberNumber of fibers: single fiber to 12-fiber ribbons (appropriate

fiber holder is required for ribbons)Clad diameter: 0.125mmCoating diameter: 0.25mm and 0.9mm for single fiber; 0.3mm

Type B: fixed length of 10mm or adjustable to 320mm with scale for single fiber; 10mm for ribbons

    S P E C I F I C AT I O N S

    For 323 and 324:

. Cutting blade locks in place after scoring, preventing double scoring of fiber and also ensuring quality cleaving angles.

. Automatic cleave function provides constant cleaving pressure and improves cleave quality.

    For 323 only:

. Waste fiber deposits automatically into a collection chamber, increasing cleaving efficiency by eliminating manual disposal and also eliminating hazardous waste fiber in the work area environment.

. Easily removable collection chamber allows for safe and secure waste fiber disposal.
