This webinar will highlight how some communities are improving access for individuals with disabilities. REGISTER FOR THE JULY 14 WEBINAR DISABILITY ADVISORY GROUPS’ INVOLVEMENT IN LPA TRANSITION PLAN IMPLEMENTATION July 21, 2021 • 2:00–3:30 PM EDT This session will highlight the importance of the role of Disability Advisory Groups, which include individuals with disabilities, as well as government representatives, community members and disability advocates. These groups focus on issues of importance to people with disabilities in the development and implementation of ADA transition plans. REGISTER FOR THE JULY 21 WEBINAR FHWA Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Webinar Series: TRANSITIONING TO A MORE ACCESSIBLE TOMORROW Following the success of the 30th Anniversary Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Webinar Series in 2020, FHWA is delivering this new four-part webinar series focused on ADA transition plan implementation for Local Public Agencies (LPAs). Each of these webinars will focus on the noteworthy practices of various stakeholders in support of efforts of LPAs to implement their transition plans and comply with ADA requirements. The ADA is a landmark law, ensuring that people with disabilities have equality in all aspects of public life. Title II of the ADA requires removal of barriers, physical and otherwise, that limit access for people with disabilities from government facilities and programs. Access to transportation facilities is of critical importance to all members of society.
