• Twitter is a real-time information network that connects you to the latest information about what you find interesting. Simply find the public streams you find most compelling and follow the conversations.

• A Tweet is 140 characters in length—you can share a

lot with a little space.

• User Name - up to 15 characters

• Real Name - up to 20 characters

• Connected to each Tweet is a rich details pane that

provides additional information, deeper context and

embedded media. You can tell your story within your

Tweet, or you can think of a Tweet as the headline,

and use the details pane to tell the rest with photos,

videos and other media content.

• Users share updates about what they’re doing – which for festivals and interest groups means that there’s a huge amount of information being created about daily life, all of which can be searched

• Following – Tweets from Twitter Users you are following will appear in your Timeline

• Followers – Users who have chosen to have your updates feature in their timeline

• @ - the special character which precedes a Twitter name to mention someone else on Twitter

• RT – retweet – a way of showing others that you’re sharing content

• MT – less used, but courtesy if you have amended

• # tag – a way of grouping Tweets about a subject
