for families to sit and have a break if they wish before the choir starts. Mother’s Day Tomorrow Please try to come and share our Mother’s Day celebrations tomorrow morning. From 8.30 to 9.30 we are asking all our Mums and Grandmums to visit their children’s classes. At 9.30 we will have our Mother’s day assembly where you will be served a morning tea and be thoroughly entertained! We would love you all to come and celebrate your special day with us! NAPLAN Next week our Literacy & Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests for 2016 are happening for our Year 3 and 5 students. Our teachers and children have already been engaged in some preparation and trial activities, which they will continue to take part in, at the beginning of this term. We wish them all the best. New Home Learning Policy Commonly referred to as ‘homework’, School Council has passed a new Home Learning Policy. The policy was developed using the Education Departments new homework policy statements. Attached to this newsletter is a copy of our new policy. It is also on our website and you can access a hard copy from the office. Have a great week, Matthew
Arts Studio News
Welcome back to the studio, we have had an exciting start
to term two with our grade five and six students attending
the National Gallery of Victoria for a guided tour and an
afternoon of art exploration. I'd like to thank all the staff and
parents that attended, and the gallery for their excellent
guides.
Our whole school have finished their puppets and
performed their shows, what great creativity. As this term
continues grades one to six will study international artists
and our foundation students will continue to explore art
elements. We will be using some messy mediums so
please ensure students have an art smock with a small
towel attached for drying their hands.
Also as the weather gets wetter it's recommended to have
hard soled slippers in case shoes get muddy. If there are
any parents/grandparents that have knowledge of mosaics,
I would welcome assistance with completing some mosaic
displays. Please see me or drop a note to Jill and we can
