Parts of the female reproductive systemOvary About the size and shape of a walnut, the ovaries hold a womans egg cells (ova).Egg Cell (Ovum) A cell that is released from the ovaries once per month. If an egg is fertilised by a sperm cell, it will create a new life (a baby!)Fallopian Tube Connects the ovary and the uterus. The egg is released from the ovary into the fallopian tube and it travels along the tube to the uterus.Parts of the female reproductive systemUterus Is a cavity within the female abdomen The uterus is where a fertilised egg will come to rest and begin developing into a baby. When the uterus contains a baby it is known as the womb.Cervix The opening that joins the uterus and the vagina.
