Anuja Kanaskar, PharmDCurrent Fellow, Xcenda“The Fellowship Leadership Forum is a highly val-ued part of the Fellowship Program that embodies Xcenda’s culture. Senior leaders are committed to providing individualized mentorship to encourage us to reach our full potential.”

The Fellowship Program’s formal mentor is Gene Reeder. Dr. Reeder, a past president and fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and past president of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science (APhA-APRS), acts as an external mentor to the Fellowship Program.

Dr. Reeder visits the Palm Harbor office on a quarterly basis to meet with each of the fellows to discuss everything from work-life balance to challenges and successes within the fellowship.

The primary Fellowship Program mentor is Gene Reeder, RPh, PhD

The fellowship team is composed of experts from various backgrounds who support the fellows through mentorship and guidance across a variety of areas within the consulting industry.

Melissa McCart, PharmD, MS*Director, Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research

Melissa McCart, PharmD, MS, is a Director within Xcenda’s Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (GHEOR) consulting team. In this role, she conducts GHEOR engagements including prospective studies, clinical outcomes analyzers, dossier development, health outcomes strategy, value proposition development, research design, and market research. Dr. McCart has expertise in developing managed markets strategy in a range of therapeutic areas including oncology, neurology, cardiology, and endocrinology.

Trent McLaughlin, PhD

Vice President, Real-World Evidence

Trent McLaughlin, BSc (Pharm), PhD, is a Vice President and leads the Real-World Evidence consulting practice. He leads a team of professionals that partner with manufacturers to generate robust real-world evidence that meets the rigorous demands of today’s payers.

Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dr. McLaughlin received his pharmacy degree from Dalhousie University in 1995 and his PhD from the University of South Carolina in 1999.Dr. McLaughlin has over 15 years of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) experience, both as a consultant and a senior member of pharmaceutical manufacturers’ global HEOR departments. Additionally, Dr. McLaughlin was responsible for establishing a Clinical Analytics and Outcomes department at Stanford Hospital and Clinics in 2005.

Kellie Meyer, PharmD, MPH*

Vice President, Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research

Kellie Meyer, PharmD, MPH, is a Vice President and leads the Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (GHEOR) team in Scientific Consulting at Xcenda. In this role, she leads GHEOR engagements including economic modeling, global market access strategy, comparative effectiveness research, outcomes analyzers, quality improvement programs, dossiers, and scientific publications. Dr. Meyer also has expertise in developing value diagnostics and managed markets strategy and gathering payer insights to inform managed markets and GHEOR initiatives. Dr. Meyer’s experience ranges across several disease areas including neurology, mental health, hematology, infectious disease, cardiology, anesthesiology, and oncology. She has authored a variety of scientific publications appearing in the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy, Journal of Medical Economics, Current Medical Research and Opinion, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, and others.

Amy M. Duhig, PhD, is Vice President of Strategic Market Access and Intelligence at Xcenda. In this role, she helps design and conduct primary research and translates evidence into campaigns that compel, inform, and intrigue, all in an effort to drive results.

Prior to joining Xcenda, Dr. Duhig was an Associate Director at a large pharmaceutical manufacturer, providing strategic and tactical support within the virology and neuroscience therapeutic areas. Dr. Duhig also worked for 4 years in the GHEOR department at another large pharmaceutical manufacturer, supporting a number of development programs within neuroscience. In these roles, Dr. Duhig was responsible for patient-reported outcome selection and development, FDA-briefing document and GHEOR strategic plan development, clinical trial protocol input from phase 2 to phase 4, and prospective study and retrospective database study design and execution. Additionally, she has extensive experience in obtaining scientific advice from health technology assessment bodies and payers and in working with key opinion leaders and government agencies, such as the FDA and National Institutes of Health, to support product development.

Vice President, Strategic Market Access and Intelligence

Evelyn Sarnes, PharmD, MPH*

Vice President, Medical Communications

Evelyn Sarnes, PharmD, MPH, is a Vice President leading the Medical Communications Team under Scientific Consulting at Xcenda. In this role, she leads Medical Affairs and HEOR engagements including development and strategic review of Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) formulary dossiers, global value dossiers, comparative effectiveness research studies, systematic literature reviews, and scientific publications. Dr. Sarnes also has expertise in designing and developing managed markets strategy and tools, and in gathering payer insights to inform both market access and HEOR initiatives and tactics. Dr. Sarnes has authored a variety of scientific publications, appearing in the Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy, Clinical Therapeutics, and Current Medical Research and Opinion, among others.

Dr. Sarnes received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Her post-doctoral training includes an Outcomes Research Fellowship at the University of South Florida and Applied Health Outcomes. Dr. Sarnes also received a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of South Florida College of Public Health.

Michael Eaddy, PharmD, PhD

Vice President of Scientific Consulting

Michael Eaddy, PharmD, PhD, is the Vice President of Scientific Consulting. Under his leadership, his team helps manufacturers develop strategies and tactics to demonstrate and communicate the real-world value of their products or devices. Dr. Eaddy has led more than 100 quality and outcomes assessments, and is extremely experienced in using real-world data sources to drive outcomes assessment and economic modeling. Dr. Eaddy’s therapeutic experience spans across many areas and he specializes in advanced statistical techniques. Dr. Eaddy brings almost 20 years’ experience evaluating, designing, and implementing retrospective analyses using SAS, STATA, and E-views, and more than 15 years’ experience in the manipulation of large public and private administrative databases.

Dr. Eaddy is an active author and speaker and a member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). Included among his awards are two for “Best Value Proposition” as recognized by 2 of the 3 largest US pharmaceutical companies. He has presented symposia for Armada/Asembia, ISPOR, and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy and the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology.

Nancy Young

Senior Director, Strategic Market Access and Intelligence

Nancy Young is a Senior Director with Xcenda’s Strategic Market Access and Intelligence team. Ms. Young has experience with a variety of diagnostic products and therapeutic pharmaceuticals. She has worked extensively with pharmaceutical and medical device firms, focusing on reimbursement and health policy, primary and secondary market research, development of payer and provider targeted field tools, and strategic direction.

Prior to joining Xcenda, Ms. Young spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry working with products from clinical trial management through commercialization. She held positions in research and development, medical affairs, marketing, sales, sales management, and technical support in both large pharmaceutical and small biotechnology companies. Therapeutic areas of expertise include oncology, therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, supportive care, and diagnostics.

New Business Development

Tim Regan, RPh, CPh

Vice President, Commercial Consulting

Tim Regan, RPh, CPh, is Vice President of Commercial Consulting. He joined Xcenda (then Applied Health Outcomes) in 1999. Currently, Mr. Regan works with manufacturers to communicate value and increase access to products as part of the Commercial Client Strategies team. In a previous role, he led the company’s Strategic Payer Market Insights team. He supported Xcenda clients with leading indicator data and market research in collaboration with payer decision makers who are members of Xcenda’s Managed Care Network, representing over 200 million covered lives.

Mr. Regan has over 30 years of professional experience including more than 10 years as an Assistant Director in the Pharmacy Department and Pharmacotherapy Faculty in the Family Practice Residency Program within the Florida Hospital Health Care System in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Regan maintains an active faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy and several other pharmacy schools. Mr. Regan has published dozens of peer-reviewed journal articles and scientific posters, and he serves as an editorial board member for American Health and

Drug Benefits.

Maher Abdel-Sattar, PharmD, MS, is an Assistant Director within Xcenda’s Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (GHEOR) team.
