FEEDING THE TROOPS

1.The Scriptures talk about

Christians as SOLDIERS. (2 Tim. 2:3; Eph. 6:11)

2. “An army marches on its

STOMACH.”

3. Scripture connects the feeding of the

5,000 with the EXODUS story

A. The people were divided into

SMALLER groups.

The leaders appealed to GOD for help.

God miraculously provided enough food

for EVERYONE.

4. Scripture also connects the feeding of the 5,000 with the

Lord’s SUPPER.

Jesus talks about Himself being the

BREAD from Heaven and the importance of being nourished

by his body and blood (John 6:51-58)

Jesus takes four ACTIONS:

•Taking BREAD•Giving THANKS •BREAKING the bread•SHARING it with those present

Two principal concepts are

SUSTENANCE and SHARING with

thankful hearts what God gives us.

Acts 2:44-45And all the believers met together in one place and

shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.
