A COMMUNICATION PORTAL FOR THE MACARTHUR INITIATIVE
THE NEW 2008 BUDGET: OLD THEMES
The American Competitiveness Initiative (ACI) keeps going for a 2nd year in FY 2008 with increases for three physical sciences agencies: National Science Foundation, Dept. of Energy Office of Science, and National Institute of Standards and Technology laboratories.
Again, large increases for DOD weapons and NASA spacecraft development.
Flat or declining funding for most other research programs within a shrinking domestic budget.
