SmartWay Transport Partnership

GSA – Freight Transportation Management became a SmartWay Logistics Partner on March 21, 2011.

GSA is the first federal agency to be certified by the EPA for efforts to reduce greenhouse gases and other air pollutants and improve fuel efficiency within the supply chain.

GSA received a 1.25 Shipper Index Factor (SIF). This is the highest possible score from the EPA and is a symbol for superior fuel efficiency and environmental performance.

Provides agencies a tool to comply with the Executive Order to meet their Strategic Sustainability performance Plan.

Reduce Scope III Emissions, such as emissions from a source not owned or directly controlled by a federal agency but related to agency activities such as vendor supply chains or delivery service, as outlined in Executive Order 13514.
