The summit highlighted how the U.S. government can help promote U.S. businesses abroad, increase U.S. exports, attract new investment to the United States and create jobs. The event was attended by high-level representatives from the Department of Commerce, the Export-Import Bank, OPIC, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, MCC, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and U.S. business executives. The event was also an opportunity for AmCham World to gather for a half day workshop at the US Chamber of Commerce Headquarters to discuss best practices and ways to enhance collaboration between AmChams. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for NorthAfrica met with CEOs of U.S. companies in Moroccoto discuss Current Developments and business prospectsin North Africa. The dinner was chaired by WalterSiouffi, AmCham President and Citibank CEO andattended by Mike Oakley, GM of Jacobs, AhmedHassan, GM of Colgate Palmolive, Nawal El Aidaoui,PR at Procter and Gamble, Yassine Bouajaja, GM ofEli Lilly , Danielle Tobias, Export Manager at Laprophan,Jane Kitson, US Commercial Counselor, Anne Meceda,Political Officer, David Bright, Regional Security Officerand Rabia El Alama, AmCham Managing Director.
Raymond Maxwell is a career foreign serviceofficer who has served primarily in the Middle East andAfrica. He was the Deputy Chief of Mission in Syria,Executive Secretary Director in Baghdad, and DeputyManagement Counselor in Cairo.
Mr. Maxwell grew up in Greensboro, NorthCarolina. He has a B.S. degree in Economics fromFlorida A&M and completed an M.A. degree at theSchool of Oriental and African Studies at the Universityof London. He is married to Dr. Filomena Pinto-Pereira.He speaks a little Arabic, Portuguese, and smatteringsof high school French and Spanish.

The Executive Education Center of Al Akhawayn University was created in 1998 at the initiative of the U.S.
Government with an initial grant of US$ 3 million. The main goal of EEC is to contribute to higher education
