MOVING MOUNTAINS
Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ’Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Mattew 17:20-21
The disciples could not understand why they were unable to heal a young boy. Jesus explained that their faith was weak. With true faith we can do anything, Jesus said — even move mountains. Reading this scripture, many people envision a majestic mountain picking up her skirts of rock & trees & stepping left or right — making a path for their purpose. But in my vision, I am pushing a wheelbar-row & carrying a shovel. I’m moving my mountain one rock at a time. Even with strong faith, we rely on God’s timing for the mountain to move. Just as we believe in answers to our prayers, patience & petition (wheelbarrows & shovels) help create the miracles we seek. If it is God’s will, we can call on our faith in God’s power to move our mountains, rock by rock. — Tracey Maxey Cox (Texas)

At the last church Business Meeting there was discussion about updating our cur-
rent pew hymnals to the newer 2008 Baptist Hymnal. This new hymnal includes 674 of
the most-used hymns and newer worship songs and can be purchased for $14 each. We
also already own the accompaniment tracs and the choir has been using this book for
special music for the past couple of years.
It was decided to set up a special designated New Hymnal Fund for members to
contribute to. You may donate to purchase a hymnal “In Memory of” or “In Honor Of” a
loved one or yourself. This acknowledgement would be put inside the front cover of the
book.
We would need a minimum of 112 books to fill all the pews or about $1,700 to ac-
complish this. If you would like to help with this project, please mark on your offering
envelope “New Hymnal Fund”. This donation would be in addition to your regular tithe.
Thank you for your interest in updating our worship experience.
