promoting the values of our Catholic faith and the mission of our parish. We offer social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual
opportunities for your child through field trips and in-house activities. Royal Kids Summer Program offers regular full time, part
time, and drop-in care for kids entering grades 1-6 in the Fall of 2015.

Does $100, $500, even $1000 off your tuition bill next year sound good to you? Many families are well on their way to those large
credits to their tuition bills next year. You can be too! Scrip is a wonderfully painless way to reduce your tuition bill. You purchase
gift cards for places you are already spending money. No overpriced candy or wrapping paper to buy. The 'rebate' amount will be
credited to your total tuition bill for next year! Every little bit counts, it all adds up. See the Scrip tab on the school website for
more details.
Non-Uniform Policy Update page 20.
We need your help in making sure our students are dressed modestly when they come to school on non-
uniform days. To help you with this, we have updated our non-uniform policy in the handbook.
“When wearing leggings or other tight pants, shirts should reach to the bottom of the students’
fingertips, when the arms are at their sides.”
The teachers have spoken to their classes regarding this policy. If you have any questions, please let us
know.
Illness: page 44
The school will promptly inform parents in the event of a concerning injury or illness while a child is at school.
Children are expected to recover from their illness at home. Returning to school before complete recovery often worsens the
child’s condition, impairs their learning, and unnecessarily exposes classmates and staff to their illness.
CHILDREN MUST BE SYMPTOM FREE FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE RETURNING TO SCHOOL. This includes the absence of vomiting,
diarrhea, or fever for 24 hours. Following a throat culture, a child should remain at home until the results are known and/or
antibiotic has been given for a 24 hour period, as recommended by the Minnesota Department of Health.
Student Teacher News: Mrs. White’s Kindergarten class will be saying good bye to Miss Kate Ruzynski, and Mrs. Columbus’s class will be welcoming her into their classroom. Miss Ruzynski will be student teaching in Mrs. Columbus’s class from March 16th – May 1st. Miss Holly Peters will also be student teaching from March 16th – May 1st in Mrs. Chalmers’ classroom. Both student teachers are currently attending the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, and we are happy to have them here, learning from our outstanding teachers and students.

Prayers for Support
The Breakfast Auction is Sunday, April 12th and Auction Night is Saturday,
April 17th. This year’s event will be bigger than ever! Our event will include
a silent auction, a delicious dinner, live auction, grand prize raffle drawings
and more! The Auction for Education is the major fundraiser for our Faith
Formation program and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School. We expect to
sell out again this year, so don't wait! Auction tickets, $100 cash raffle tick-
ets, and tuition raffle tickets can purchased after Masses, online or in the
school office beginning in early February. We would also like to encourage
families to sell raffle tickets to your relatives, neighbors, and friends. Every
raffle ticket you sell supports our kids.
Large auction items are NEEDED! Do you have access to any trips, sports
tickets, services or electronic items that could be donated? Items for themed
baskets are also needed. We encourage families that are interested in
donating to combine their dollars with another family to donate a larger
item. Please drop off all donated items at the Parish Office by Saturday,
March 28th. If you have specific questions about the Auction or about
donating at item, you contact either Kris Silas (763) 218-2350 or Gina
Schupanitz 612-382-0452. We appreciate your support.

Day of Prayer
Our school has been blessed with MANY special angels. This
year we are honoring and thanking these people with a special
DAY OF PRAYER. We ask that your family keep these angels in
your daily prayers on their special day.
The recipient of our FEBRUARY DAY OF PRAYER IS JIM SUEK.
We prayed for him on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Thank you
Jim for your kindness, generosity and support. We are blessed
to call you friend.

More information on Art Adventure
It's that time of year again to request parent volunteers for our annual partnership with the Minneapolis Institute of Arts to bring
the students Art Adventure. The goal of the program is to create a positive experience in art for our children and to lay the
foundation for a lifetime involvement with art and museums.
We need parent volunteers, called "Picture Persons", from grades K-4 to commit to one 3 hour training
session (March 5, 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm OR March 25, 10:30 am - 1:00 pm) and then present the art repro-
ductions to the classroom. The "Picture Persons" will then accompany the students on their field trip to
the art museum in May. This year's theme is Artists' Inspirations.
A background in art is NOT necessary or required! All you need is an interest in bringing art and art
appreciation to the children of St. Vincent de Paul. The training program provides you with all the tools
necessary to make art exploration an exciting adventure for the kids. The Institute's training involves a
tour of all the actual pieces to be presented in the classroom. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and prepare you well for
the presentations. Please consider giving your time to this worthwhile project.
Congratulations to Gabrielle Reak
and her family on the birth of her
baby sister Elin (E-Lynn) Rose, born
on 2/11/2015.
All teachers and staff wish to thank
Annie Nelson and the Sunshine
Committee for the wonderfully
festive treats provided during
conferences. We appreciate all you
do to support us!
Science Explorers: Wednesday, February 26, 2015
Learn about the history of flight as we experiment with Bernoulli’s Principle.
Investigate aerodynamics as you design, build and fly your own flying
machines, paper airplanes and more. This class may use party balloons which
contain latex. More information and waiver here.
Art Adventure is scheduled to begin in March and as
of Friday, 2/20, we are still without parent volunteers in
Mrs. Winn's, Mrs. White's and Mrs. Schlicksup’s
classrooms. If we can not find a volunteer, this great
program will not be able to happen for our
kindergarten and 3DS students. If you are able to be a
"Picture Person" please email Molly Nord.

judges and be selected as a finalist in order to perform. The judges’ decisions were based on the
