Our New Year’s Eve Dance party was a grand success! It was held at the St. John’s Activity Center in Fenton. There were 97 members and guests in attendance. The yummy selections of finger food were plentiful and delicious; and the desserts kept everyone coming back for more all night long. Dave played our favorites and helped us count down to the new year in style. Leo and Marge Brennan did a marvelous job as always planning this event. Thank you to everyone who helped set up and clean up, your help is always very much appreciated. The first theme dance of the year is coming up on February 12 th . Let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day at RollHaven with DJ Henry Royster spinning the tunes. I want to remind all current club members your 2020 membership dues must be paid no later than February 28 th . There are applications available at the RollHaven registration table, in this newsletter and on our website GLSDC.org. February’s dance lesson is West Coast Swing taught by Angela Markle. Our DJ line-up: Joann, Henry, Angela and Dave. See you on the dance floor, Jim

Use good manners at all times
Social dancing mixes people of all backgrounds into one melting pot called the dance floor. It’s always in good taste to use good manners when speaking to each other in this setting. Be on your best behavior when speaking to others of the opposite sex and chose topics of conversation wisely.

Forever Young. Dancing is tremendously beneficial in keeping us young. It
retards the aging process immensely. It benefits our heart, cardiovascular
system and increases our lung capacity. Fact: The muscle exertion and breathing
rates of dancers performing in one dance competition is equivalent to those of
cyclists, swimmers and an Olympic-level 800-meter runner.
