Aldavine™ is a calibrated association of 2 unique algae
polysaccharides which protect microcapillary integrity.
CALIBRATED ASSOCIATION OF ALGAE POLYSACCHARIDESAldavineTM is a highly potent cosmetic active ingredient born from the calibrated
association of 2 unique algae polysaccharides. The pollutant-free environment
protected by UNESCO offers optimal growth conditions for the harvest of these high
quality algae. Our biotechnological process makes it possible to create outstanding
and biologically active polysaccharides that clinically demonstrate effectiveness in the
protection of microcapillary integrity. AldavineTM is also offered in an ultra-concentrated
formula, AldavineTM 5X which is five times more concentrated.
TARGETTING PRO-INFLAMMATORY MEDIATORS AND MMPSSkin cells sense the aggression of external stress and initiate a cascade of biological
responses. Keratinocytes and fibroblasts produce biochemical mediators in the forms
of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and PGE2 (prostaglandin E2). PGE
2
targets skin microcapillaries and induces its dilatation (enlargement of diameter) while
the microcapillary hyperpermeability (leakiness) is further encouraged by VEGF. This
phenomenon favors the efflux of leukocytes towards the extracellular matrix (ECM)
where they start secreting enzymes such as elastase and MMPs. Altogether, this
reaction progressively leads to a disorganization of the elastic components of the ECM
thereby weakening its structure. Ultimately, this cascade of events will dramatically
affect the cosmetic appearance of the skin, leading to fine lines and wrinkles, hallmarks
of aging skin, as well as the apparition of dark circles.
By inhibiting VEGF, PGE2, and MMP-2 activity, AldavineTM 5X maintains dermis matrix
integrity for better skin support, preventing fluid leakage and vasodilatation.
PROTECTING AGAINST PHOTO-AGING
Preventive action
Test protocol
Volunteers applied 1% AldavineTM 5X or placebo 2x/day for 7 days. Microcirculation was
measured on D0, then UV exposure, then re-measured 5 hrs later.
Curative action
Test protocol
Volunteers were exposed to UV rays, then applied 1% AldavineTM 5X or placebo.
Microcirculation was measured 2 hrs later.
AldavineTM 5X normalizes the excessive increase of microcirculation caused by UV exposure, thus preventing premature aging.
REDUCTION OF DARK CIRCLESTest protocol
Volunteers applied 1% AldavineTM 5X or placebo 2x/day for 28 days. Evaluation of red
blood cell concentration (TIVI index) and evaluation of skin colorimetric parameter b*
was done at D0 and D28.
AldavineTM 5X decreases the intensity of dark circles and brightens the eye contour.
REDUCTION OF EYE PUFFINESSTest protocol
Volunteers applied 0.5% AldavineTM 5X + 0.5% Lanachrys® 2B or placebo 2x/day for 28
days. Evaluation of the eye puffiness volume by fringe projection at D0 and D28.
The combination of AldavineTM 5X and Lanachrys® 2B clearly reduces eye puffiness and improves the appearance for an overall youthful and radiant look!
