I T I N E R A R Y – It must be kept in

mind that this itinerary is provisional and an example of the type of cruising you could be doing. We cannot guarantee that you will stop at any of these locations. An actual itinerary can be planned closer to the time or as your days unfold.

DAY 1 – Arriving at the island, an

easy transfer from the airport to

the base by either taxi or hire car,

to offload bags, grab a quick up of

morning coffee and head out to

explore MAHE. Victoria is a couple

of minutes drive and a full circuit

of the island would only take a

couple of hours. If you plan to do

your own provisioning, a trip to

the local markets, shops and

butchery would need to get you

back to the base by noon to be

ready to leave by 1 o’clock latest

should you wish to head to Praslin.

Or depart for Saint Anne for the

first night at about 3pm. A short

sail and perfect introduction to

the holiday. Dropping anchor in

the lee of the island for a warm

water swim with the giant batfish and braai off the stern.

DAY 2 – At sunrise leave for La

Dique Island, approx. 6 hour

crossing which can be enormous

fun or a little daunting for the

uninitiated but a must in the

itinerary. Fishing outside of the

marine reserves during the

crossing can be outstanding and

bring a fresh supply of tuna for

days of sushi on board. Depending

on the wind, this can also be an

amazing sail and the last of the

‘proper’ sailing until the return trip back to Mahe.

Tie up in La Dique harbor to visit this quaint island, take the traditional bicycle ride, see the giant tortoise sanctuary, lunch on the beach, shop and soak up the scenery. La Dique boasts ‘the most photographed beach in the world’. Leaving late afternoon sail to Ile Cocos carefully dropping anchor outside of the coral areas. This allows for some of the best snorkeling imaginable. Evening sundowners and dinner can be here or after moving to the shelter of Felicite Island for the night anchorage.

DAY 3 – After breakfast move back to Coco’s for more diving and snorkeling before the tourist boats arrive. Spending the morning here and as much of the day as possible is a special treat. After lunch head towards the ‘two sisters’ Grande Soeur & Petite Soeur, where on the Eastern side you are bound to have exciting baraccuda fishing. This heads into the really deep water and a wilder side of the islands.

For evening, head into the lee of Grande Soeur for the night anchorage.

DAY 4 – Leave anchorage & head towards the West side of Praslin to anchor at Ile St. Pierre, ‘the most snorkeled island in the world’. After lunch head up the east shore of Curieuse Island to the nights anchorage in a secluded secret spot.

DAY 5 - 6 – Rounding the north side of Curieuse at the start of the day to end up in Anse Lazio (Anze meaning ‘beach’) which is arguably the most beautiful bay and beach from where you will be hard pressed to leave. Spend a couple of days lazing around, snorkeling, sun bathing, walking and soaking up this amazing place.

DAY 7 – Dragging ourselves away from Anse Lazio we now head for Cousine and Cousin

DAY 8 – Taking a short sail heading down the west side of Mahe, we head to Port Launay for the day and the night. A place full of mystery and with many interesting local stories.

DAY 9 – The last full day of charter, we take a slow sail back across the North coast of Mahe, past Beauvallon Beach, North Point, past interesting architecture, many little bays and head back to the marine reserve of St Anne. With enough daylight, the tiny island of Isle Moyenne is well worth exploring before a final dinner on board. Feed the left overs to the ever present batfish who swarm to greet you.

DAY 10 – Taking your time to absorb the last of the trip, slowly head back into the base for return and handover of the boat.

islands where we will try for anchorage off the whitest beach you will ever see, for a late breakfast. These islands are famous for unique bird species and hours can be spent listening and watching. The crossing back to Mahe will take up the rest of the day with hopefully some good fishing along the way. For the night anchorage will pick up a mooring inside Baie Tornay, a marine reserve on the north west point of the main island.
