Fearfully & Wonderfully MadePSALMS 139:14

Page 2: Fearfully & wonderfully made

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

(Psalms 139:14 NIV)So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

(Genesis 1:27 NIV)

For beauty, the human body is unmatched.

As a machine, it is the pinnacle of God’s creative work. Chemically, the body is unequaled in complexity.

Each one of its 100 trillion cells is a mini-chemical factory performing about 10,000 chemical functions. Each cell replaces itself every seven years.

Each cell is independent, yet cooperates with many millions of other cells.

Incredible Engineering. It is able to receive

communication through the five senses.

It can perform simple to delicate tasks thread a needle and perform delicate surgery.

Its joints are self-lubricating and self-repairing.

Page 6: Fearfully & wonderfully made

Incredible Engineering. It contains a chemical

plant much more complex and efficient than anything man has ever built.

It has a cooling and heating system to maintain the temperature within a fraction of a degree, except when a higher temperature is needed to fight disease.

All the parts of the body, billions of them, work together as a team.

The Body’s ValueHow many people has been born since Adam? Based upon average annual birth rate: 50 BillionBirth rate: 18.7 births/1,000 populationnote: this rate results in about 255 worldwide births per minute or 4.3 births every second (2014 estimate.)

The Body’s ValueIf the chemical elements could be extracted from the body and sold on the open market, an average-sized human would cost as much as two hundred seventy million pesos at present rates. (US$ 6 million)

The Body’s ValueSpiritually: Man is PRICELESS18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. (1Pe 1:18-19 NIV)

The Marvelous BrainThe brain is more complex than any man-made computer.

It has 30 billion cells called neurons. Each neuron acts like a computer chip that may connect with other neurons as many as 60,000 times.

The human brain records every stimulus a person’s sensory organs perceive throughout life.

The Resurrected Body

51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed-- 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be

raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

(1Co 15:51-52 NIV)

CONCLUSIONTherefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing

move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,

because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

(1Co 15:58 NIV)
