To increase Romanian students' chances for securing admissions and financial aid at U.S. universities, the Fulbright Educational Advising Center/FEAC organized an intensive 3-day training program. The program also helped students on the Black Sea coast become familiar with the U.S. study environment and U.S. cultural values. The Summer School hosted by the leading high school in Constanta, “Mircea cel Batran” National College, allowed the FEAC team to share strategies and insights into selecting the right universities and putting together strong applications that lead to admission with funding in the U.S.A. In addition to the admissions training activities, the Summer School also included a U.S. movie club in the evenings, the perfect opportunity to discuss U.S. cultural values and society. “The Blind Side” and “Good Will Hunting” added a much appreciated cultural dimension to the event. FEAC Internships for High Schoolers: 3 Openings This Fall

For Fall 2012, FEAC has designed a range of undergraduate part-time internships that

will bring high school students in grades 10 to 12 closer to U.S.-style education and to

the EducationUSA activities in Romania. Three positions are available for an internship

program ranging from September 15 to December 15.

The “Internships” section on the FEAC site http://bit.ly/joinfeac features full

information on the internship program, as well as testimonials from past happy interns.

FEAC eNewsletter: Online Admissions Prep in September – October

EducationUSA and a range of U.S. universities are offering a diverse range of webinars this fall.

The Fulbright Educational Advising Center’s fall eNewsletter highlights these sessions for all

those interested in finding out more about higher education in the USA.

The offer is so diverse this time that we have not one but two eNewsletters, both an

undergraduate issue and a graduate one. The sessions will focus on diverse topics, from

differences between public and private institutions to the ACT, TOEFL and SAT tests.

Presenters from U.S. universities - University of Virginia, Mount Holyoke College or Iowa State

University - will answer questions from participants and will give details about what life as a

student in the U.S. entails.

Full details on the webinars on the FEAC site, in the “Calendar” section
