What is the FCAT 2.0? The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test
(FCAT) is part of Floridas overall plan to increase student
achievement. It is a criterion-referenced tests (CRT), which
measures selected benchmarks in Mathematics, Reading, and Science
from the Sunshine State Standards (SSS). Spring 2014 administration
dates: AssessmentTesting Dates Reading Mathematics Science April 22

Primary purpose is to assess student achievement of the
high-order thinking skills in the Next Generation Sunshine State
Standards. Length of passages ranges from 200 1100 words, with an
average of 700 words. Test duration is 140 minutes FCAT Reading

Reading Encourage your child to read 30 minutes every day and
ask them questions about what they read. Encourage your child to
ALWAYS go back to the text to find the answer. Assist your child in
checking out Accelerated Reader books in your local public
libraries and encourage your child to take tests at school. Ensure
your child meets the required assignments for Reading Plus. How to

Civics EOC The primary content for this course pertains to the
principles, functions, and organization of government; the origins
of the American political system; the roles, rights,
responsibilities of United States citizens; and methods of active
participation in our political system. In spring 2014, A students
performance on the statewide administered Civics EOC Assessment
must constitute 30 percent of the students final course grade.
Baseline data will be collected to establish a minimum passing
score on the Civics EOC Assessment.
Slide 13
Sample Question Civics In the Preamble to the U.S.
Constitution, what is the meaning of the phrase We the People?
A.The people express their will through political parties. B.The
people express their will by directly creating laws. C.Government
receives taxes from the people and exist to support them.

Algebra 1 EOC The Florida EOC Assessments are part of Florida's
Next Generation Strategic Plan for the purpose of increasing
student achievement and improving college and career readiness.
EOCs will be computer-based, criterion-referenced assessments that
measure the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for specific
high-school level courses, as outlined in the course description.
The first assessment to begin the transition to end-of-course
testing in Florida is the Algebra 1 EOC.Florida's Next Generation

Fill-In Response EOC Bill is planning to drive from his house
to a baseball stadium and arrive in time for the beginning of the
championship game. His arrival time depends on the traffic. If
traffic is light, he will travel at an average speed of 50 miles
per hour and arrive 1 hour early. If traffic is heavy, he will
travel at an average speed of 30 miles per hour and arrive on time.
The equation below can be used to model this situation, where t
represents Bills driving time, in hours. 50(t 1) = 30t What is the
distance, in miles, from Bills house to the baseball stadium?
