We are excited that Avery Dennison, a valuable worldwide media partner for HP Indigo, has expanded its digital portfolio to include labeling materials designed and tested for the rigors of the durable goods market. These HP Indigo Certified products offer success on press and new business opportunities for label converters.

High-quality graphics, cost-effective short runs and quick turns are driving success in today’s label market. HP Indigo industrial roll presses deliver in all 3 areas. Lightfastness and abrasion resistance are additional critical requirements when it comes to servicing the durables good market, especially those applications requiring UL 969-recognition for outdoor use.

Now, labeling can be attractive and tough due to the launch of Avery Dennison’s UL-Recognized Durables Portfolio for HP Indigo roll label presses. The portfolio consists of six, high-performance label materials commonly used for durables applications. Each base material was printed with HP Indigo ElectroInk Series 4.0 inks and overlaminated. The overlaminate used combines a tough 1 Mil UV-resistant polyester facestock, our best anti-aging adhesive and an ultra smooth 1 Mil polyester release liner.

Printed sample labels of these materials were submitted for UL 969 Marking and Labeling Systems testing. The materials were tested and recognized for use on an expansive list of surfaces under demanding indoor and outdoor conditions. Details regarding surfaces and conditions can be reviewed by accessing Avery Dennison file MH8212.

Here’s what our UL 969-Recognized Durables HP Indigo Portfolio offers:

1. Reduced Cost and Complexity• Chosen specifically for today’s substrates, six

qualified facestocks and one overlaminate cover a wide range of end-use applications

— including challenging low surface energy plastics and powder-coated substrates. This reduces inventory SKUs, simplifies inventory management and lowers inventory carrying costs.

• Constructions are available on our Ready Width™ service program. Single-roll minimum order quantities (MOQ) and quick shipping means no trim or added inventory costs - directly benefiting your bottom line.

2. Reduced Risk• Tested and recognized with HP Indigo ElectroInk

Series 4.0 inks, these UL 969-recognized materials lower the barriers to change, making it easier to take new material options to your customers. This can result in additional business opportunities while positioning you as a partner, not a supplier.

• And even if your application does not require UL 969-recognition, using a material system that has gone through the rigors of this testing ensures success in demanding end-use applications.
