• Fashion is defined as a style of dressing that is popular during a certain time or era.•It often changes and reflects a person.In modern times it reflects personality.•Fashion is a state of mind. A spirit, an extension of one's self.•Fashion is something we deal with everyday. Even people who say they don't care what they wear choose clothes every morning that say a lot about them and how they feel that day.

• In the 20th century fashions change as quickly as lightning because of mass production and fast moving society. About every 10 years a totally new kind of dress is in style.

Fashion is affected in many ways:

Fashion and history go hand in hand, believe it or not. Historical events in a time period reflects the way people living in the time dress, especially with teenagers…

• The most representative yeras of the fashion, like 50s, hippie’s age, disco fever, or grunge. All these ideologies had been make an important change through the time. There exists a great evolution through the fashion of the 40s to the 90s, and it involves different ideologies.

of synthetic fabrics, like rayon.

• Simple styles=being patriotic• Long elegant dresses and

hats of every shape and size

• If you look back through the past sixty years of fashion, you may notice a pattern.People may say that the true years of fashion began in the late nineteen forties and went on through the early nineteen sixties.

• If you look at fashion today, its almost repeated the look from sixty years ago. In each generation fashion trends become based on history and/or important events.

• Stand straight and carry yourself with grace. You will radiate self confidence.

• Fashion is a means of self-expression that allows people to try on many roles in life. Whether you prefer hip-hop or chanel-chic, fashion accommodates the chameleon in all of us.

• It's a way of celebrating the diversity and variety of the world in which we live. Fashion is about change which is necessary to keep life interesting.

• It's a way of measuring a mood that can be useful in many aspects, culturally, socially even psychologically.

• Fashion is a language which tells a story about the person who wears it. "Clothes create a wordless means of communication that we all understand”.

• Fashion is an endless popularity contest.

• According to Katherine Hamnett, a top british fashion designer. Hamnett became popular when her t-shirts with large messages like "choose life" were worn by several rock bands.

• Clothes separate people into groups.Fashion is revealing. Clothes reveal what groups people are in.i-e;’In high school, groups have names: "goths, skaters, preps, herbs."

Acceptance or rejection of a style is a reaction to the society we live in.

• For teenagers, fashion is first and foremost a social statement. It is an outward means of expression to their peers and the rest of the world.

• Often, fashion for teenagers is the result of the desire to be like a celebrity. Celebrities are perhaps the greatest influences on teenagers in the modern world, and they can have a huge impact on a teen's ideas about fashion and its importance.

One certain thing in the fashion world is change. We are constantly being bombarded with new fashion ideas from music, videos, books, and television. Movies also have a big impact on

what people wear. Ray-ban sold more sunglasses after the movie men in black. Sometimes a trend is world-wide. Back in the 1950s, teenagers everywhere dressed like elvis presley.

• Musicians and other cultural icons have always influenced what we're wearing, but so have political figures and royalty. Newspapers and magazines report on what hillary clinton wears.

• The recent death of diana, the princess of wales, was a severe blow to the high fashion world, where her clothes were daily news.

• Even folks in the 1700s pored over fashion magazines to see the latest styles.

• The famous french king louis xiv said that fashion is a mirror. Louis himself was renowned for his style, which tended towards extravagant laces and velvets.
