The recipients of New Gen, sponsored by Topshop are: Catwalk sponsorship: Danielle Scutt, House of Holland, Louise Goldin, Mark Fast, Mary Katrantzou, Meadham Kirchhoff, Nasir Mazhar and Peter Pilotto. Exhibition sponsorship: Anna Vince, Borba Margo, Craig Lawrence, Cooperative Designs, David David, Emilio de la Morena, Felder•Felder, Fred Butler, Hannah Marshall, House of Holland, KTZ, Krystof Strozyna, Louise Gray, Mark Fast, Mary Katrantzou, Meadham Kirchhoff, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto. This will see Mary Katrantzou, Mark Fast and Nasir Mazhar on the official show schedule for the first time. First time exhibitors are knitwear designers Craig Lawrence and Mark Fast both of whom take a craft-based sculptural approach with very different results, KTZ by design duo Sasko Bezovski and Marjan Pejoski, props stylist and accessories designer Fred Butler, and ready to wear and previous Fashion East designer Louise Gray. The BFC established New Gen in 1993. Since that date is has become the most internationally recognised talent identification scheme in the UK. Its alumni includes many great British designers including Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Julien Macdonald, Boudicca, Sara Berman, Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders and more recently Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab. Topshop continues its support of the New Gen scheme for the fifteenth consecutive season. Offering additional support to designers by providing show venues and commissioning special collections available during London Fashion Week, Topshop directly contribute to the business development of some of the most exciting design talents in London today. Hilary Riva, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council commented “New Gen is the most established element of the British Fashion Council’s designer support pathway. It is internationally recognised for supporting the best of London’s emerging design talent, and has a track record of helping to establish some of the world’s most respected design talents.
