St. Vincent de Paul Charity hosts an annual fashion show. The idea behind this project was to choose a song from the past, and create a new outfit to match the song and the inspiration behind the clothes purchased at the St. Vincent’s thrift store.

A jumpsuit bought from St. Vincents and satin to re work the clothing to match the song I had chosen.

FASHION IN THE RAW ARTSY IMPRESSIONISM

ETHNICALLY CHARGED

During our Industry, Theory, Practice class we created our very own trend books, while exploring what we imagine will be the mega trends for spring/summer 2013. I explored the ideas of a “Fashion in the Raw” trend, an “Artsy Impressionism” trend and an “Ethnically Charged” trend. Click the link to view the entire book.

The alternative textiles project was designed to see how we could use our textile knowledge to create a garment out of something other then fabric you could find in stores. We were to choose an alternative textile and create a wearable garment out of it.

The alternative textile I chose was a vinyl shower curtain, with an invisible zipper in the back of the garment.

The idea behind the CFDA scholarship project was to create a concept, mood and color board and create a line to match all aspects of the project. My project followed the life a women who lives in the upper east side of New York City. She is very involved in her community and all the exciting night life of the city.

east side of New York City is always on the go. Whether it be a high society function, an exclusive party, or a charity event, she dresses only in the nest attire. While displaying her elegance, she turns every head the moment she arrives. Along with her luxurious clothes, she holds her head high with con dence. In her world of high society, it seems as though everyone knows one another, yet she maintains her mysterious nature, revealing only her polished and sophisticated look to the public eye.
