Far-Infrared TechnologyReflection

• Ceramic-reflective fibers absorb energy from the body (as well as the room) and echo it back in the form of far-infrared energy.

• Although activated by a variety of energy types, the KenkoTherm® fibers only give off far-infrared light, also called deep heat.

• Each Ceramic reflective fiber acts like a tiny sponge. When it has absorbed its energy storing limit, far-infrared warmth is released in a steady, controlled way.

• Insulation, known to many homeowners as “R Value”, helps to prevent the loss of heat.

• KenkoTherm® products use natural and manmade fibers to insulate.

• The amount of “passive” insulation is decided by the utility of the product (e.g., the Nikken KenkoTherm® Winter Comforter has more filler or insulating material than the Summer Comforter.)

• Excess energy and perspiration must be allowed to escape into the atmosphere.

• By designing products with the correct degree of breathability, they are able to respond appropriately to the body’s needs.

• Example: When the fibers above a person’s “hotspot” (e.g., underarm) have absorbed all the energy they can, the breathable nature of the comforter permits the excess heat to pass through to the room.
