•Saint Rose of Lima (April 20, 1586 – August 24, 1617) is the first Catholic saint of the Americas, was born in Lima, Peru.

•Manuel Ricardo Palma Soriano (Lima, February 7, 1833 - Miraflores, October 6, 1919) was a Peruvian author, scholar, librarian and politician. His magnum opus is the Tradiciones peruanas.

•Sofía Mulánovich Aljovín is the first Peruvian surfer ever to win an Association of Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour event. In 2004, she won three out of the six World Championship Tour events, and finished the season as World Champion.

•Alejandro "Alex" Rodríguez Olmedo is a former tennis player from Peru who won the Wimbledon and Australian Championships singles titles in 1959.
