FAIRE COLLECTION LAUNCHES ITS FALL 2014 LINE Accessories inspired by the French belle époque period characterized by rich textures and ornate materials New website streamlines e-commerce experience and brings to life the artisan experiences and social impact of the company’s fair trade mission BROOKLYN, NEW YORK—JULY 1, 2014—Faire Collection today announced the launch of its Midnight Collection line of neo-modern jewelry made by its global community of fair trade artisans. Midnight Collection is the 14th full collection from six year-old Faire Collection and showcases the diversity of its fair trade materials and global style influence. The collection was inspired by the French belle époque period, characterized by the rich textures and ornate materials that were plentiful in this era. A FRESH TAKE ON FAIR TRADE HIGH FASHION ACCESSORIES “It’s thrilling to see the evolution of the intricate designs that our Ecuadorian artisans can bring forth from amazon seeds and I continue to be awed by the diversity of styles and textures that our Vietnamese workshops bring to life with up cycled horn,” said Amanda Judge, CEO and founder of Faire Collection. “Our focus has always been to bring high fashion to fair trade. And we’ve done it again.” Standout pieces include: • 5-Tassel Necklace. The subtle glint of the strands of gold-colored chain adds a hint of richness and glam to the deep tones of the leather. • Mae Necklace. The juxtaposition of our traditional natural materials from the Amazon with semi-precious stones and delicate chain make this piece stand out. • Geometric Cutout Cuff. The way the cutouts offer a glimpse of the bright and bold colors painted on the interior of the cuff are subtle and striking. • Empire Bangle. The negative space between the tiers of angled horn draw the eye to this high fashion statement bracelet. Today the company also launched a new shopping website for both retail and wholesale customers. Faire Collection now offers its discerning customers the ability to deeply engage with the global artisanal community that hand crafts the accessories they love. Faire Collection is committed to giving voice to its artisan communities and being fully transparent in the details of the company’s fair trade practices and social impact initiatives. OFFERING ARTISANS A PATH TO PROSPERITY “The number one reason that artisan families get stuck in a cycle of poverty is the lack of access to profitable markets; they are forced to give whatever price a middle man asks,” said Judge. “I started Faire because the quality of the global artisan community deserves a seat at the mainstream fashion table. At the same time, the history, traditions, and lifestyle of these communities deserve respect and support.”
