Producers Through Trade Together
What Is Fair Trade? What Is Fair Trade?
• Fair Trade is a global movement tackling poverty and empowering producers through trade
• The movement consists of consumers, campaigners, manufacturers, retailers, traders, governments, multilateral organisations, unions, development organisations, and, most importantly, the producers themselves
Fair Trade Communities help bring the different groups and individuals within the Fair Trade Movement together in the common goal of tackling poverty and empowering producers
Fair Trade Communities is an initiative of the Fair Trade Association (FTAANZ) to provide goals and guidelines which communities across Australia can adopt as a focus to promoting fair trade within their area of influence.
It is part of a wider international initiative that includes international cities like London and San Francisco who have committed to Fair Trade.
