Panathlon Wallonia-Brussels

• Non-profit organisation created in 2003 =>12 years of various programmes

• A single aim: the promotion and defence of sporting ethics values and Fair Play among young people

• 3 full-time employees

• A strong Board of Directors made up of representatives from major public and sporting entities

• Present on the ground for more than 700 days a year

• A network of nearly 90 members

Facts and figures

Panathlon Wallonia-Brussels:

Almost 100 direct community members in its network

Representing over 1,500,000 indirect individual members (out of a total of 4,300,000 inhabitants) => or almost 33% of the French speaking community in Belgium

Spread across the whole of the territory of French-speaking Belgium(= geographical network symbolised by the club’s name: “Panathlon Wallonia-Brussels”)

International positioning

• Affiliated to the Panathlon International movement • Member of the Belgian district (+ 5 Flemish clubs, 1

representing the German community)• Club working as an NGO, with staff (4 full time), a Board of

Directors (15 members) and an extensive programme of activities build around a business plan

• Recognised and rewarded on several occasions for its actions by the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP), Belgian Authorities and FICTS

• Supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee

• Associated with the “Sport and Citizenship” Think Tank

sense of community” 

- Since 2010: “FAIR PLAY AWARDS” with the support of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee

=> To showcase great gestures in Sport=> To create a unique trophy with strong

symbolic meaning

=> Providing a practical way of establishing Fair Play in the heart of communities

- Since 2014: “CINE FAIR PLAY” - based on IOC videos and the laureates of the

Brussels European Sports Film Festival=> Because ‘beautiful footages’ are the strongest partner to

show the idea of Fair Play

and people made aware and more

than 5000 events in 2015

After 12 years of experience and activity, Panathlon today is:

A practical programme in conjunction with sports federations

and local authorities, focused on:

ensuring the development of large-scale programmes

that can be adapted to every type of context

Panathlon and the EFPM

Today, we are proud that Panathlon Wallonia-Brussels is accepted as a

Member of EFPM:

Becoming his representative in Belgium

Offering its programmes to the EFPM Members

Collaborating on its level and with its resources in projects

already conducted by the EFPM (Awards, symposiums,

communication, etc.)

Working with all the EFPM members to disseminate Fair Play

through the implementation of unifying and universal concepts
