During Lent, Lord, help us grow in faith, hope and love — “and the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13, NRSV).
Opportunities abound... Clean up opportunities exist both locally and near Seward. Please contact JoEllen if you would like more information to assist with yard clean up related to Habitat for Humanity or with our Flood Relief conference connection (this would require some ERT… emergency relief training prior to assisting). Ongoing efforts at our local fairgrounds have been assisted by our UMYF students and others in the community.
Now is the time to check out the summer camps offered at Camp Fontanelle. See the display on the board near the sanctuary… pick up a registration packet to turn in to Jo Ellen when completed… UMW will pay for 1/2 the cost of each camper. If you have never been to camp before we will pair you up with registration, and the cost is just 1/4 the regular cost. Begin plans for summer!

ing this year!
Holy Roar Tour The Holy Roar Tour arrived in Omaha, NE on Saturday, March 23. Three from our church attended to praise and worship our Lord and Savior. Chris Tomlin, Pat Barrett, and Tauren Wells led the 2.5 hour worship experience. Chris shared a message about the more than 100,000 children in America who are in need of a forever family through adoption. His mission, Angel Armies, is working with foster/adoptive care agencies and churches to find homes for these children. Through Family Advocacy Ministries “FAMs” and donations, Chris believes the Church is the solution to this issue. Darren Whitehead (Chris’s local pastor and co-author of the book ‘Holy Roar’) also shared a message about praise and worship, specifically regarding the seven Hebrew words that are translated as ‘praise’ in the English language. Wess will be leading a Holy Roar study this summer. If interested, please let Wess know! Angel Armies – www.angelarmies.com Holy Roar – www.holyroar.com
Has the Lord blessed you with a gift for music? Do you enjoy singing? Do you have the talent to play an instrument? Do you feel a calling to lead others in praise and worship to God? If you answered yes to any of these questions, YOU are needed! We are looking for those who are willing in sharing their gifts as part of our Praise Team. Singers, pia-nists, drummers, guitarists, even those really good with a kazoo…you are welcome! The commitment of time is that you are available for two rehearsals (usually on Wednesday evening) and two Sundays per month. Please call, text, or e-mail Wess if you’re interested. He would love to speak with you more and answer your questions. Come, answer God’s call, and share the gifts God has given you with Seward UMC! O come, let us sing to the Lord; Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Psalm 95:1

SUMC...On the Move April Newsletter
(A component of the Faith Community Nursing Program)
As we continue the Lenten season, traditional Lenten practices involve denial, but can also include appropriate additions. Be “On the Move” and consider improving healthy eating habits, increasing activity, and lengthening your devotional times. Spiritual and physical health are dependent upon each other. We know that God loves cheerful givers, happy livers, and we can safely assume that God probably loves merry exercisers, as well!
The four most important types of exercise are: 1. Aerobic exercise increases heart rate and breathing. Increases endurance. 2. Strength training lowers blood sugar and strong core muscles improve balance. 3. Stretching maintains flexibility in muscles and tendons.
4. Balance exercises make us feel steadier on our feet and help prevent falls.
Yoga involves all four!!!! Gentle yoga continues to be offered on Thursday mornings from 9-
9:50 am. SUMC church family members are asked to pay a $5 fee per session and $10 for non
-SUMC folks. Classes will include basic yoga with adaptations for chair yoga. Try it ... you
might love it!
Build it, and they will come! Offer it, and they will participate! The YMCA or-
ganization built the Fallbrook Y. On Sunday, March 3, SUMC offered a fami-
ly-friendly block of time, and hooray, did they ever brave the 7 degree cold
and 9” of snow! A total of 49 people, 32 adults and 17 children, participat-
ed in swimming, basketball, yoga, use of machines, weight lifting, and healthy snacks. To all
who shared in the fun and fellowship, thank you. To those who hope this event will be re-
peated, it will.
Dates to keep in mind: Sunday, 4/7 & 4/14 Leave your March activity log in the shoebox. Sunday, 4/14 Wave those palms ... really pump your arms! W-Th, 4/17-18, 8pm Plan to attend a Living Last Supper Service, Sunday, 4/21 Celebrate Easter -> rejoice and do some bunny hops. Monday, 4/21 Earth Day -> reuse, recycle, reduce human impact! Friday, 4/26 Arbor Day ... Plant a tree or three!

If you are the last to leave the church building, please remember to check the back door to make sure it is locked. It has been found to be unlocked several times recently. The instruc-tions for locking that door are found taped to the door so refer to that when leaving. Please bring questions or concerns to the Trustees attention.
Many thanks for keeping church property safe and secure~ Trustee Committee
