• Almost 100% of law graduates are in paid employment• Many graduates working for major law firms in Sydney,

Melbourne, Canberra and for firms in regional areas• A number of graduates have worked or continue to work

in large international law firms – Tokyo, London, New York,

Hong Kong.• Two graduates working with the Department of the Prime

Minister and Cabinet• A number of graduates have been Associates to Justices of

the Federal Court of Australia and Supreme Court of NSW.

• First students in 1993 and first graduates in 1996; to date 801 graduates

employed in a fascinating range of positions• In other large law schools there can be over 2,000 students, average

enrolment is 848• At Newcastle less than 100 LLB students

• Standard is high - UAI in 2008 of 91.10

• Ability to complete the Diploma of Legal Practice during the 5-year or 3-year degree program = practice-ready graduates and a strong professional and clinical emphasis throughout the program.
