Refining Decisions Affect Heating Oil Supply

Refineries produce as much gasoline as possible to meet the needs of our nation's economy. Heating oil production takes place in the winter months when demand is highest and the summer driving season is over, reducing demand for gasoline. Once produced, the refined heating oil is delivered to oil storage facilities located in each state to ensure that there is enough heating oil to meet demand during the winter months.
