Design: Descriptive study. Methods: Data were obtained from content analysis and questionnaire surveys from 250 nursing faculties of 6 autonomous universities. e data analysis included exploratory factor analysis by SPSS program and determining factors by LISREL program. Main Findings: e findings revealed the seriousness of faculty shortage, which has hindered the development of professional standards for nursing faculty. A total of 79 observed variable indicators of professional standards were explored by content analysis. e 7 factors and 45 indicators were ranked with exploratory factor analysis and first order confirmatory factors: nursing competency 9 indicators, ethical 11 indicators, teaching 12 indicators, research and academic service 5 indicators, education and knowledge 3 indicators, art and culture 2 indicators, health promotion competency 3 indicators. Conclusion and recommendations: e research findings recommend to apply factors and indicators for recruitment and develop nursing faculty competencies especially nursing competency and ethic that were the most influential factors of professional standards.
