FACILITIES COUNCIL MEETING DATE: September 8, 2016 SUMMARY: Facilities Master Plan 2011-2030 – Annual update for 2016 is submitted for the information of the Council. COMMENTS: • The Facilities Master Plan 2011-2030 (FMP) maps and spreadsheets serve as primary reference materials for the FMP ad hoc implementation committees, the Facilities Council, Facilities Advisory Committee, Architecture Landscape Review Board, campus leadership, staff, project architectural/engineering teams, public-private partnerships, and as general information about University plans. • Annual updates, as part of the University’s Capital Budget process, will ensure that the maps and spreadsheets are current. • This annual update for 2016 reflects UMD’s FY 2018-2027 Capital Improvement Program and FY 2017-2026 System Funded Construction Program and includes the following changes: o Projects Completed: - CC_T4 Zagster Bikeshare system installed (Transportation). o Renovation Projects Completed: - Tawes Hall (141) - Relocation of Innovation District and Physical Distribution facilities into Severn Building (810). o Buildings Demolished: - Police Substation / Yale Avenue (018). o Projects Added - Period 1 Renovation: Central Animal Research Facility (087 – convert to storage facility) Chemistry Building (091 – Partial) A.V. Williams (115 – Partial: space vacated due to Iribe program) Biomolecular Sciences Building (296 – Partial) - Period 2 Renovation: H.J. Worcester Hall (051) Replacement: Building is 77,600 GSF plus 7,000 GSF for half of existing SCUB II.Public Protection and Security Research: Building is 120,000 GSF plus 7K GSF for half of existing SCUB II and 7K GSF for future SCUB expansion for future development.
Benjamin Building (143): Building is 85,000 GSF plus 10,700 GSF for CYC replacement.
New Electric Sub-station: Footprint is 10% larger than footprint of Mowatt sub-station.
New Energy Plant: 30K footprint plus 10K outside area for trucks/storage if this becomes bio-mass.
