Overview• Facebook announced that all Fan Pages will
convert to the Timeline format• All fan pages will be migrated to Timeline on
March 30, 2012• Fan page administrators have the option to
move to Timeline immediately if they choose•We’ll cover what Timeline is and tips for how
to use it properly

Let’s breakdown some of the different parts of Timeline for Pages

The big photo at the top is called the Cover Photo
The dimensions are 851 x 315 pixels
Pick something compelling and unique, but stay within these Facebook guidelines
Cover photos cannot include: A. Price or purchase information, such as “40%
off” or “Download it at our website”. B. Contact information such as a website address,
email, mailing address, or information that should go in your Page’s “About” section.
C. References to Facebook features or actions, such as “Like” or “Share” or an arrow pointing from the cover photo to any of these features.
D. Calls to action, such as “Get it now” or “Tell your friends”.
E. Covers must not be false, deceptive or misleading, and must not infringe on third parties’ intellectual property.

• The profile photo will be used in ads, sponsored stories and the newsfeed so make sure it represents your brand well
• Use a high quality image that scales well, as it’ll appear as both 180x180px and 32x32px sizes.

What happened to tabs?• They’ve been
redesigned as boxes• Default Landing Tabs
no longer exist• Four boxes can be
shown with an additional eight hidden behind a drop down arrow on the right
• Box names and images are customizable

How Should I Use Tabs?• Content is king.
Consolidate with a one-tab solution to create a content hub
• Fans will interact on Timeline but find music, video, downloads, and more on your custom tab.

Attracting Attention to Your Priority Tab• Place the tab in the
second box spot – Photos must be first
• Choose a custom name and image that will attract fan attention
• Use the Info section to link directly to the box.

Timeline Content• Lock the most
important story to the top with Pinned Posts
• Posts can be pinned for up to seven days
• Highlighting a post expands the size to both columns

• Fill in your Timeline with Photos and Milestones.
• If your history extends beyond the start of your Facebook page, add backdated content to tell your story.
