A Message from the Facades+ Partners

Welcome! We are delighted to be back in L.A. Introduced in 2012 in New York City by The Architect’s Newspaper, Facades+ is the premier national event series on high-performance building envelopes.

Whether you are a veteran attendee or first-timer, we are glad you could join us for a deep-dive into both locally and universally significant issues, from seismic design to facade education.

Many of the AEC industry’s most intriguing challenges and opportunities hit close to home in L.A. Other recently completed projects epitomize down-town L.A.’s transformation from a neglected artifact of twentieth-century car culture into a multimodal, resilient urban center. The city’s thriving com-munity of architects, fabricators, engineers, academics, and developers—represented by Facades+ L.A.’s diverse lineup of symposium presenters and workshop leaders—continues to actively reshape the way we think about architecture and urbanism, both in Southern California and further afield.

Co-chairs Kevin Kavanagh and Alexander Korter have worked with A|N to assemble an incredible roster of speakers and workshop facilitators from among the leading lights of the AEC industry and academia. We encourage you to spend one-on-one time with them during the conference’s network-ing breaks and lunch. Please also visit our Methods+Materials Gallery, where you can get to know the industry-leading sponsors without whom this event would not be possible.

The dialog continues even after the conference concludes, as we prepare for upcoming Facades+ events in cities nationwide. Connect with Facades+ weekly newsletters and on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to stay up-to-date on conference locations and dates. We welcome your feedback in our online post-event survey, and encourage you to visit The Architect’s News-paper (archpaper.com) for industry news and exclusive content.

Now they can do the same with hardwood floors finished by the first PPG CAP program member certified to apply DURETHANE® wood coatings.

For the first time, architects can specify custom-colored, prefinished hardwood floors for office buildings, restaurants, hotels and retail stores with the same confidence they reserve for Duranar metal coatings applied by traditional PPG CAP program members.

Whether your goal is to add warmth and color to a building’s interior or exterior, PPG can connect you with a certified applicator trained and audited to deliver the world-class customer service, industry-leading technical expertise and accelerated product delivery your project demands.
