RYAN SALVAS | CW KELLER + ASSOCIATES | DESIGN DIRECTOR | BOSTON CO-CHAIRSalvas is an educator and building technologist focused on fabrication processes and project delivery methods. He is the Design Director at CW Keller + Associates, a digital fabrication design and engineering shop that specializes in complex millwork and concrete formwork. Previously, Salvas worked at SHoP

Architects and at Front Inc. Salvas worked on Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as well as designing and executing facades with OMA, Neil Denari, Jean Nouvel, and Diller, Scofidio + Renfro. He teaches building technologies at RISD and Northeastern University and was an Assistant Professor at Auburn University’s School of Architecture.

KATHERINE FAULKNER | NADAAA | PRINCIPAL | BOSTON CO-CHAIRFaulkner oversees the operations, fabrication, and design on select projects. Since 2011, she has directed efforts to expand the firm’s prototyping facilities and portfolio, extending their geographic reach and capacity to deliver large projects. Faulkner received her MArch from Harvard’s GSD, and has

been working for over 20 years in residential, academic, institutional, and health-care projects. After receiving an MBA from Boston University in 2010, she wanted to refocus the business of design and joined former schoolmates Nader Tehrani and Dan Gallagher in launching the award-winning firm, NADAAA.

RICHARD ASKIN | WS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATES | DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DESIGNExperienced in large-scale, mixed-use development projects across the US and East Asia, Askin is a grad-uate of RISD (BArch), Harvard GSD (MAUD), and a licensed architect. His initial career as an architect

transitioned into real estate development, specializing in shopping centers and MXDs. His role includes acquisitions, concept, architecture, adjunct to leasing and WS’s delivery of asset to operations. His focus is guiding WS’s masterplan, urban design, and architecture, and public realm improvements in Boston’s mega-development, Seaport Square.

DAVID CARLSON | BOSTON REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY | DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF URBAN DESIGNCarlson’s position started 32 years ago as a student intern from the Harvard GSD. In partnership with communities, the BRA plans Boston’s future while respecting its past. By guiding physical, social,

and economic change in neighborhoods and downtown, the BRA seeks to shape a more prosperous, resilient, and vibrant city for all. Carlson’s department participates in this mission through design review on projects from signage and modest improvements, to historic areas, to major multi-building projects and campuses.

GERARD GUTIERREZ | SASAKI ASSOCIATES | SENIOR ASSOCIATEAs leader of Sasaki’s Technical Resource Group, Gutierrez sets the standard for technical excellence. He brings to each project a designer’s sensibility coupled with the technical expertise and rigor that enriches architectural ideas. Throughout his over 25-year career, his strongest contributions have been developing

construction documents and ensuring the design integrity translates to a constructible and well-detailed building. Gutierrez’s collaborations have been published in domestic and international architectural journals.

ANDREA LOVE | PAYETTE | DIRECTOR OF BUILDING SCIENCE, ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALLove works across all projects to improve building performance. She was the Principal Investigator for the AIA Upjohn Grant on thermal bridging, and is a lecturer at MIT Architecture. Love is a licensed ar-chitect with a BArch from Carnegie Mellon, and Masters in Building Technology from MIT, and received

the Tucker-Voss Award. She is a member of the COTE Advisory Group, and chairs the 2030 Working Group.

TIM LOVE | UTILE ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING | PRINCIPALLove is the founding principal of Utile, Boston-based architecture and planning firm. His primary focus is the relationship between individual works of architecture and the larger city. His work is not driven by aesthetics, but by collaborative deep-dive research focused on the technical, cultural, regulatory, and envi-

ronmental issues of urban design problems. Currently, Love is working on the citywide plans for Boston and Cambridge and a master plan for Boston City Hall and Plaza. Love is a tenured Associate Professor at the Northeastern University School of Architecture where he teaches urban design theory and graduate-level research studios.

DAVID NAGAHIRO | CBT ARCHITECTS | DESIGN PRINCIPALNagahiro has 28 years of experience in urban design, architecture, and interior design. This multi-dis-ciplinary approach leverages his knowledge of urbanistic, architectural, economic, social, sustainable, and technical challenges to develop creative design solutions. He has led a number of urban design and

complex mixed-use projects that have been catalysts for the revitalization of underutilized urban sites. Recent projects include Boston’s 121 Seaport and 10 Farnsworth, Twenty|20 in Cambridge, and the Nantun Tower in Taiwan.

CHRISTOPHER O’HARA | STUDIO NYL | FOUNDING PRINCIPALO’Hara is the facade director for the Skins Group, a division of Studio NYL, established to provide full service facade design specializing in thermal modeling, moisture/condensation analysis, and in-depth detailing. Although Studio NYL is recognized for its skins work with cutting edge glass and glazing, their

team also specializes in digitally fabricated metal skins and facades, GFRC, reinforced polymers, stone, ultra high performance concrete, fabrics, terra cotta, and traditional precast. O’Hara is currently working on multiple facade projects in the Boston area.

MARK PASNIK | OVER,UNDER | FOUNDING PRINCIPALPasnik is a founding principal of over,under, a Boston architecture and design practice, and is co-curator of the pinkcomma gallery. He has taught at the California College of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon Uni-versity, Northeastern University, RISD, and Wentworth Institute, where he is an associate professor.

He received the AIA Young Architects Award in 2013 and serves on the Boston Art Commission and the executive board of the Boston Society of Architects. With Michael Kubo and Chris Grimley, he authored Heroic: Concrete Architecture and the New Boston.

NADER TEHRANI | NADAAA | PRINCIPALIn addition to serving as Principal of NADAAA, a practice dedicated to the advancement of design innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, Tehrani is also the Dean of the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at the Cooper Union in New York. He was previously a professor of architecture at MIT,

where he served as the Head of the Department from 2010–2014. As principal and founder of Office dA, Tehrani’s work has been recognized with notable awards, including the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in Architec-ture and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Architecture.

IVAN ZUNIGA | YKK AP AMERICA | ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES MANAGERIn his role, Zuniga is responsible for the sales and marketing of YKK Architectural Products in North America. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Virginia Tech and is also a Professional Engineer. Zuniga is an active member of the Construction Specifications Institute, the American

Architectural Manufacturers Association, and the Glass Association of North America, and has served on several committees and task groups to promote energy efficiency and code development.
