Your new Router came pre-configured with a network name andpassword, found printed on an attached card All clients must use thisnetwork name and password to connect wirelessly to your RouterYou will need to find the network settings on your client, select thenetwork name printed on the card from the list of available networks, and enter the password when prompted to join the wireless network

l m t t e w re e tr m t r te Limiting the wireless transmitrate can help improve range and connection stability Most wirelesscards have the ability to limit the transmission rate To change thisproperty in Windows, go to the Windows Control Panel, open NetworkConnections, and double-click on your wireless cards connection Inthe properties dialog, select the Configure button on the Generaltab, then choose the Advanced tab and select the rate property

Wireless client cards are usually set to automatically adjustthe wireless transmit rate for you, but doing so can causeperiodic disconnects when the wireless signal is too weak; asa rule, slower transmission rates are more stable Experimentwith different connection rates until you find the best onefor your environment Note that all available transmissionrates should be acceptable for browsing the Internet Formore assistance, see your wireless cards user manual
