    Every time that I smile... Everytime that I sigh...I think of your face, tears start to roll down my face.

    You were my world, my inspiration and my heart.But the day you left me, my world fell apart...

    You were my “Best Friend”, my one true confidanteAnd you were the best Mom a girl could have;

    I would do anything to bring you back.But I understand God’s wishes and He needed you more

    I will carry you in my heart everywhere I go.I love you, MOM,

    Your loving daughter, Cynthia

    Mom

    As I walk along life’s pathwayThough the way I cannot see,I shall follow in His footsteps,

    For He has a plan for me.

    Love Always,Your Sis, Elsie

    ObituarySister Dorothy Gadson, daughter of Martha and Paul Pasket, was born on November 19, 1934 in

    Cleveland, Ohio. Dorothy attended Cleveland Metropolitan School District and was a graduate from John Hay. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Mark Baptist Church. In 1945, she met Matthew Gadson Jr. and married her “best friend” on September 30, 1953 and to this union six children were born.

    Sister Gadson was employed part-time at the United States Post Office and several area hospitals until she found her calling in 1970 at Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home where she retired in 1999.

    Sister Gadson enjoyed church and was a member in good standing at St. Mark Baptist Church and served diligently on the Nurses Guild and the Mothers Board.

    Dorothy was a very spiritual person. Her favorite quote was “This too shall pass”. As a woman of God, she was family oriented, kind, soft-spoken, generous, gentle and sophisticated. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or any other significant date. She loved pictures and had a lot of them.

    Dorothy enjoyed shopping and watching basketball. Her favorite player was Michael Jordan. She used to do a little skating in her earlier years.

    On Sunday, June 17, 2012, Dorothy Gadson went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Paul Pasket and her siblings Paul Paskett Jr., John Jamison, Lonnie Paskett and Gladys Cummings.
