Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat (EENT)

Eye=Vision Ear=Hearing Nose=Smelling Throat=Swallowing

Left Eye (OS) Right Eye (OD) Both Eyes (AU) Eyes are most commonly used for vision

purposes.

Ears

Left Ear (AS) Right Ear (AD) Both Ears (AU) Ears are commonly used together for

hearing purposes.

Visual Activity (VA)

Acuteness or sharpness of vision Used to measure small detail

Extraocular Movement (EOM)

Non-parallel movement Indicates muscle weakness

Eyes are deviated outward Greek term: exo-moving outward, to exit

Conduction of sound in inner ear via bones of the skull

Most common surgery formed Placed through ear drum to allow air into
