What a great school year it has been at E. L. Wright Middle School! Staying true to our focus on high school readiness in three years, we were thrilled to see terrific gains in our students meeting their MAP testing goals. Our amazing teachers kept an intentional focus on instructional strategies to support this student achievement goal. Congratulations to them for this terrific effort!
Warriors excelled in all three areas of our three primary targets this year: relationship building, increasing academic performance and teacher retention in our school. Faculty, staff and administrators participated in Capturing Kids’ Hearts training, designed a rigorous enrichment program for students, and tutored over two thousand, eight hundred hours beyond the school day in order to ensure student success.
Our 7th and 8th grade orchestras received an EXCELLENT rating at the SCMEA state concert performance assessment. Our band students distinguished themselves with an EXCELLENT rating at the SCBDA state concert performance assessment, underscoring our district and school’s commitment to the arts in education.
As a continued part of our service learning efforts, our amazing students raised money to make donations to Pawmetto Lifeline, Childrens’ Garden, Toys for Tots, Wildwood Downs, NHC Healthcare, MDA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Relay for Life and United Way.
All efforts continue to support our wildly important goal of high school readiness: Three to Get Ready! Our incredibly dedicated teaching staff keeps our focus on creating an academically engaging and relationship-building culture as we continue to challenge ourselves to be better at everything every school year. Go Warriors!
