The Collector 20 Vol. 22 No. 3, 2012 EXTRA GAS BAR VARIETIES - ARCTIC REGION by Don Bradt #150 This is a continuation of the “Extra Gas Bar Varieties”, the previous article was about Atlantic back varieties. This one is about varieties in the Arctic region of the map. The more common varieties are described in Volume II of the Bilodeau Guide. For a variety to make the Guide there has to be at least 3 known examples and there has to be a fair range in the serial numbers. There were quite a few varieties that I catalogued that didn’t pass the above rule of thumb. You probably need to refer to Volume II to make sense of the variety names and grid numbers (grid#’s). The grid#’s are in the square boxes in each picture and all pictures have been enlarged four times. I’m hoping that people will examine their collections and search for the following coupons. If we can find extra examples, we may be able to add them to the guide. The suffix (RW) means that Ron Wilkie (#678) owns the coupon. Here are some of the coupons in my collection that didn’t pass the test. If you find any of these would you contact Don Bradt, 2051 Beaverhill Drive, Ottawa ON K1J 6N9 or E-mail: [email protected].
