Over the last 10 years, social media apps and filmmaking tools have become a fundamental part of our digital lives. Young people, in particular, learn, socialise, explore their identities and engage with the world using their screens. Media literacy is now a basic literacy. In response to these developments, Film Crew Club workshops focus on conversation and co-creation formats: students work with cameras, iPads, mobile phones to explore 2/3D animation, live action, gaming and social media content. By making films together, students learn, first hand, how to look at media critically and how to engage with it safely and respectfully. Film Crew Club workshops are offered as part of after-school programmes in many Amsterdam based schools. They are also offered as independent workshops throughout the year for kids, teens and adults at other locations. Bricks Challenge is our most popular enrichment program. The overall course objective is to impart theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Me-chanical Engineering, and Math (STEM) by using LEGO® technic parts and other exciting tools.
The main goal of the course is to illustrate content through stories and demonstrations. Our students will learn math and physical principles through intuitive study, develop their independent learning and improve their building skills.
The course will provide mathematical integration between physical laws and the simple calculations to support them. The laws and mathematics are both illustrated through the construction of exciting LEGO® bricks models. Once the concepts have been demonstrat-ed students enjoy hands on building the YE LEGO® models which provides experiential learning and reinforces the lessons topic. To carry out the building process, students re-ceive a tailor made kit developed by Young Engineers.

We do painting, drawing, claywork, paper/cardwork – lots of imaginative work. You can see examples on my website, www.tonychapman-artmusic.com
There is a relaxed atmosphere – making art is fun. I encourage self expression and freedom in art making – I give a project as a starting point – the most important thing for me is the student’s own interpretation... I‘m always amazed and delighted to see what students come up with...
I’ve been running these groups for the last 19 years – at the British School of Amsterdam, ISA and AICS. I have a B.A. Hons Degree in Creative Arts. I am a painter and sculptor.
I also teach guitar (privately and at the British School of Amsterdam) and I teach piano (privately).
I am English – and have lived in Amsterdam for the last 20 years. I am also a singer/songwriter
with my own band, “The Big Event”, performing in and around Amsterdam.
All art materials are provided.

Mr. Raymond Haloni is a football trainer and health & fitness instructor at Swift Football club. Football clubs will include different exercises to develop football skills, tactics and general coordination.
Whenever weather allows, the club will take place on the playground. For inside activities the children will need to change into indoor trainers. Please remember all children must bring a bottle of water with them. When bad weather we will be playing inside the hall.
There will also be an opportunity once a month to play football on a Sunday morning. Please see Mr. Haloni for further details about this.
Places in the clubs are limited and if the clubs are oversubscribed, a waiting list will be created. To check on availability of places, please complete the Extra Curricular Request Form and return it on-line. Payment for the term should be paid directly to Mr. Haloni at the end of the first lesson.
Mr. Haloni also teaches soccer at Sporthallen Zuid on Thursday and Sunday at Apollohal. There is also a girls’ soccer hour at Apollohal on Sunday. Also he is available for Football Birthday parties, please contact him for further details.
And in the summer there will be a fun summer soccer camp in Amsterdam. Contact Mr. Haloni for details.
Mr. Allaert Troost is an experienced chess trainer and organiser of many youth tournaments.
He is also teaching chess in several schools in Amsterdam (Dutch Champion 2016) and at the
famous chess club VAS (Vereenigd Amsterdamsch Schaakgenootschap: "United Amsterdam
Chess Society") and Caissa, where he has been training children for many years. The lessons
are divided into two parts. The first 20 minutes will be spent working on theory with a
werkboek (price of this workbook is included). This follows the Dutch method by Brunia van
Wijgerden, which is a visual step-by-step method to learn and enjoy chess on every
individual level. In the next 40 minutes the pupils will play chess in competition, alternating
with all kinds of chess varieties (simultaneous, crazy house, random chess etc.).
Chess is one of the oldest problem solving games in the world and certainly the most
popular one. It stimulates the imagination and makes children responsible for their own
moves.
Places in the clubs are limited and if the club is oversubscribed a waiting list will be created.

During the course children learn about the principles of pop/rock music, get acquainted with legendary musicians and their popular songs. This club is a nice combination of vocal and acting training, dancing, body percussion, rhythmical exercises and instrumental workshops with our creative musicians. Children get their first taste of composing simple pop songs and sound recording. For the first time they try to deal with fellow musicians and work together as a band. Every term we work on a few numbers with a gradual preparation for the final show (after the second term), where kids perform their chosen songs and dance. Together we encourage the participants' talents, skills and confidence in a relaxed playful way.
